Hi, I'm from Santa Cruz CA. I support any movement who's goal is to get us out of the Middle East, and create clean energy. I am a videographer by trade and would like to make more people aware of Pickens Plan.

Amen Zarate. In my mind we need to be completely diverse when tackling the energy crisis; being reliant on one or two sources of energy (regardless of the nature) is a recipe for disaster, and it needs to be home grown (ideally becoming available to the homeowner for use on private property). The technology is already there so I don't blame Pickens for any entrepreneurship he may be taking part in. It's not like every one of us couldn't smell this coming, I for one have given a lot of thought to it. Of course people stand to make money, but at least we're fattening America's wallet here. The beauty of capitalism is that profit drives competition and improvement, obviously needed in the energy arena. I'm a CAD Designer by trade so if there's anything I do to help inventors or people looking to further these movements, please contact me and I'll be happy to lend my efforts at no or very little cost. Finally, I'm looking for a flyer anyone may have created for this site, that I can print/post on my community message board; if you have one please contact me.

I received a group message from David Amstutz. Please do not do this, this type of message belongs on the blog, not spammed out to all the members. Further, I completely disagree with you, I do not favor $10 oil, I believe nuclear should be used more, and I am not concerned by Picken's motives. He is doing something which should have be done along time ago which is to better diversify our energy supply and break our dependence of foreign sources. If I compare Pickens to Al Gore, Al Gore is not providing any energy solutions, only creating new ways to tax us and he has already made millions of dollars in the process and causing us to become more dependent on foreign energy and transfering a huge portion of our wealth to other countries. If Pickens gets wealthy from providing wind, solar, and natural gas then I applaud his efforts. This is the American dream and the American way, to provide American solutions and American jobs. I stand up and salute him and I am completely onboard.

Several months ago I decided I was able to seriously increase my gas mileage by not driving like a race car driver "which I do enjoy". Also I have drive about 30% less. Now I want to get an all electric around town vehicle of some sort. I am looking for better means of transportation. If you have any ideas, send them my way. Thanks, Rick.

I've recently done a fact finding mission on rising fuel costs. Futres trading is at fault. Drillng for more oil will not lower prices if we don't force congress and the president to suspend trading on oil. The same trading is causing inflated prices in the food industry. Again it can be controlled if congress and the president were not controlled by investors. Switching to alternative fuels is necessary but they can not be allowed to be traded on the futures market or we will remain in the same poor economic state. My article explains what has transpired. I'll supply a link after it has been further edited to include this group and posted to my site.
This site was an answer to my question as to how I was going to help organize people. I'm anxious to share information, develop ideas, get better mass transit where needed, convert cars to use alternative fuels and introduce people to this site.
Someone posted a little not about Southern California Edison. I can't turn on a light bulb with out getting charged for overages. While we fight for conversion as a California group we should fight to get Edison under control via the Governor. There are ways to send messages that will make them work to our benefit.

This is the perfect platform for starting a grassroots movement towards pulling like minds together - to come close to ending our dependency on foreign oil! I look forward to participating however I can. I'm sharing the news of Pickens Plan with my friends (and convinced one to join - more to come). This effort may prove itself to be more powerful then the oil company lobbyists as membership grows. I love it! As a side note...my most recent change to becoming "green" is the donation of my gas lawn mower to the Salvation Army, and I replaced it with a push mower instead. It will be an added benefit to my exercise regimen. I am up for doing more - and helping this group grow - I look forward to how we will evolve!
