Best use of solar panels.
I ran into this article recently that I think is worth sharing. For those of you who have driven into an open parking area to park on a hot summer day only to find the shady areas are all taken. You have looked everywhere, dreading to shut down the pleasant air conditioning in your car, you have been forced to use the brightest spot to return and find the heat in your car could be used as a glass blower's furnace and it's going to take the ac at least 20 horrible minutes to cool down and get comfortable again, the answer is finally here.

33mpg!? I've actually achieved 39mpg in my GX, and I routinely get 36, and it's not even a hybrid. In fact, quite a few non-hybrid gasoline vehicles get better than 33mpg today.

I'm glad Toyota decided to get into the NGV market, but what on earth happened to the fuel economy? The '09 gasoline Camry gets 31, and the gasoline hybrid gets 34, which is a pretty pitiful improvement.

I was really hoping to hear more like 50.

Toyota rolled into the Los Angeles Auto Show with what it says is the world's first and only compressed natural gas hybrid vehicle, a car that gets 33 mpg and, if nothing else, shows a lowered Camry looks pretty sweet on 19-inch wheels.

Isn't it interesting that products to convert automobiles to run on CNG and E85 ethanol and propane with a potential 244 million customer base are not represented at the LA Auto show

Could it be that the big foreign auto and big government and the show sponsors don't want you know that you can solve the energy crisis today by allowing inexpensive CNG and ethanol and propane vehicle conversions You don't have to wait on the automakers or be victimized by them to stop exporting wealth today.

All attending Pickens Plan supporters must picket the show with posters and demonstrations demanding CNG and ethanol and propane car conversion now.

I plan to attend, and wear my AQMD shirt. I'd wear a PickensPlan shirt, but there aren't any. (Why is that?)

Since the metro is right across the street from the convention center, and I have a station within walking distance of my house, I'll go to the car show without using a car.

Mary Anne, if you find any discounts or passes in the papers, let us know. I'll do the same. It opens this Friday.

Wouldn't it be great if everyone who attended just ignored all the conventional gasoline vehicles completely?

Hybrids will take center stage at 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show, which opens to the public on Nov. 21. Check out the top 7 hybrids here.

Mike,

I love your spirit and enthusiasm. Especially since you are likely one of the furthest from LA. :)

We have close to 40 confirmed attendees so far (and they live a lot closer).

BTW, there's an auto show this weekend in CT.

Hey Mary Anne

I would Love to go to the LA Auto Show, Would Pickens be able to Sponsor me to go to LA and Rally up some Folks to Campaign at the event. Now is the time for us to put the pressure on while gas prices are low. All I need is a Modest expense account and I will make some Pickens Plan NOISE !!

Let me know what you think
