WELCOME TO "PICKens ME! ~JOBS!"

PICKens ME! ~JOBS! is an ALTERNATIVE ENERGY RESOURCES platform aimed at bringing employers and great talent together.

MY FIRST GOAL: Attract employers and influence terrific people to post Accomplishments, Objectives and Current Experience in whatever it is they do best, are passionate about or want to do with the belief if given an opportunity to interview and are extended an exciting employment opportunity, they can do it better than anyone else!

MY SECOND GOAL: Undertake the role of Matchmaker. Friends, we need to start 'somewhere' ~ let's make PICKens ME! the prime meeting place to read through inspiring paths of great talent seeking opportunities and become serious bench strength to this movement.

ONE REQUEST: Beyond the one stated in my first goal, I am asking each member to keep in the back of your mind, fellow members that impress you in one way or another. You never know who you might come across tomorrow making a connection for someone else who could well do the same for you!

EMPLOYERS: My recommendation is that you send job postings/descriptions to my company email address listed below. Since this page does not hold 'job categories or act as job search engine, I can give greater visibility to your open jobs by posting them 'right here in this box', as well as introduce your opportunities person-to-person acting as Recruiter to make things hum and people shine.

I am developing relationships with each person joining this group; allowing me to know 'precisely' Best matches in potential candidates aboard our fine ship.

The challenges many of us face in securing great employment opportunities I happen to know intimately and have an in-depth sense of empathy for job seekers. I am a great believer in the jobs the alternative energy sector will create in America. A strength of mine is wrapped in the power of observation and problem solving. May I be the "Dear Abby" of Business Development Growth through job creation and placement @ PickensPlan.com -- Let's make something spectacular happen TODAY.

All the best,
RoseMarie LaCoursiere

Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I am an Energy Specialist with Total Energy Concepts, we help businesses reduce their energy consumption and protect their electrical equipment at the same time. Through our sister company Van's Electric of Lake Worth we assist residential utility customers in implementing conservation methods at home. My background is in chemical engineering and alternative biofuels production.

What excites you about this campaign?
Absolutely everything! Our nation needs desperately a wakeup call to start conserving energy. We absolutely must start reducing energy consumption if we wish to leave more than a third world debtor nation to our children and grandchildren. Going green is not only the ethically and morally right thing to do, it is the smart thing to do. Going green will save you money while preserving the future of this great nation.

What do you want to do to help?
Anything I can to educate Americans on the very serious nature of our addiction to fossil fuels. We are the greatest nation of thinkers and doers on the planet and we CAN resolve this issue. The solution has to start with conservation in EVERY American home and business first....

HOW CAN TOTAL ENERGY CONCEPTS HELP YOUR BUSINESS GO GREEN?

We lower your electrical usage thereby conserving energy. This increases your bottom line, and reduces the amount of energy the Power Company needs to generate, thereby reducing greenhouse emissions.
. .

Increase the useful life of your equipment, motors, compressors, lighting, ballast... This also improves your bottom line and decreases the wasted energy necessary to manufacture new equipment.
. .

Optimize the efficiency of your inductive loads (motors and compressors). This increases their useful life and reduces their KW consumption.
. .

Energy efficient lighting! Increases the lighting of your facility and provides a much better working environment, reduces KW consumption, and may qualify for utility rebates.
. .

Going Green has never been easier. You save money, and save the environment. That is what we call a win/win situation every time!

Here is another way that you can become involved in renewable energy at no upfront cost and be involved in revolutionizing how we will get our power in the near future. It's so simple I can't believe someone did not do it sooner. Please take a moment and learn!

Hi Everyone. I'm wondering if their are software related green jobs, specifically computer programmers. I've been in the financial industry for quite a while, and it's been in not so good shape for the past several years. Any thoughts please? Thanks.
Curtis Martin Comment by Curtis Martin on September 14, 2008 at 10:27am
I'm Curtis Martin. I am a Clean Cities Coordinator with a broad (and ever growing) knowledge base of alternative fuels and related infrastructure.

I'm also the Alt Fuels Mgr at RPH Honda in Palmdale, Ca and was responsible for securing the grants and constructing the first public CNG fueling site at any Honda Dealer in the nation.

In addition, I co-own www.cngchat.com, (and soon to come) www.altfuelschat.com. Cngchat is the primeir Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) site on the internet for NGV owners and industry stakeholders. We have assembled some of the top tier names in the natural gas industry into one location. Out site is monitored by virtually everyone that's anyone in the cng arena.

The newest addition to the site is the Clean Cities Forum, where CC Coordinator's from across the nation can gather to work on projects, share knowledge and resources and have access to over 4,000 members of the site, answering questions, assisting the membership with relevant issues and receiving assistance in developing their goals. Our calander contains a comprehensive listing of upcoming Earth Day, Odyssey Day, and other events that these coordinators are organizing to advance alternative fuels.

We need this country energy independent in a decade... or less. If the Middle East shuts down the flow of oil to the US, our lives will change over-night. Life as we have come to know it will end. We can not leave our future in the hands of those whose interests are not our own.

I think Mr. Pickens true value is as a catalyst for change in this country. The status quo is no longer acceptable, as are politicians that do not see the urgengy of change. 10% to !5% reduction in imported oil over the next 5-10 years is rediculous. The 500 billion a year we spend on forieng oil, if spent to get us off of oil, could certainly accomplish miracles.

I feel that the American Energy Act that so many seem to be embracing is counter productive at this time. Tying on-shore drilling to non-oil related energy initiatives will only serve to get the whole package killed, or bog it down in the courts indefinitely while environmental groups launch their inevitable legal battles in protest. Keep the domestic drilling issue seperate from the other great legislation that's up for review right now. If the domestic oil issues have merit, let them stand on their own, rather than bog down the progress of other well written, and urgently needed, legislation.

Personally, I feel domestic oil reserves are a bandaid on a rather severe gushing wound and a political ploy to mollify the constituency. I also believe that everything Mr Pickens is doing is to line his own pockets, but what the heck. If it gets the ball rolling... I can live with it.

As far as I can see after many hours of searching and inquiry it appears that Texas is going to need alot of certified and licensed ncg outlet operations.I talked to the Texas Railroad Commission about the certification requirements for ncg and was told that all
that was required for management or licensee level certification was to take a $70. exam based on all ncg categories state regulations. This certification will allow the holder to operate and
handle ncg in the State of Texas.Texas has a large lpg industry
already but ncg is for the large part a fleet operation here. Here is a great opportunity for business in the ncg arena!!! Go to the Texas Railroad Commission website and you can see for yourself. If I had the means I would be all over this business opportunity. You can bet I am studying the regulations!!!
