For me the HUGE advantage the CNG vehicle argument has over Electric Cars, Plug-In Hybrids etc, is that the vehicles actually exist TODAY and have been built at competitive prices for a decade or more. Most people have never heard of driving on CNG, don't know it's possible; sp this march on Washington is a golden opportunity to show average Americans that Natural Gas vehicles are a reality and offer just the sensible and practical alternative our ailing economy needs.

First, everyone who drives a new or converted CNG vehicle, including fleet operators, Municipal buses, the new Freightliner tractor trailers, as well as the thousand or so Honda Civic GXs, and at least 1,000 converted cars from Utah and Oklahoma needs to drive these cars to Washington DC. Of course Clean Energy would need to install refueling pumps along Interstates every 200 miles from California, Utah, Oklahoma and New York to make these cross-country trips possible, but what an impact for Americans to see these cross-country trips being made WITHOUT ANY PETROLEUM!

The CNG solution is very concrete, backed up by proven hardware, and based on fact. It shouldn't be approached the same way as an emotional or belief-based political issue like Gay marriage, or Civil Rights. So let's present the FACT OF THE CNG Solution by "Demonstrating It" instead of "Demonstrating FOR It".

Dr Mark

P.S. If public parkland is a problem, we could merge the "car show" portion of the March with a CNG vehicle industry trade show and rent out a big convention hall in D.C.

Hi Dr. Mark,

CNG vehicles (as well as American MADE electrics), as you know, have been around for some time, but if you saw "HEAT", the FRONTLINE Show, you saw that the Oil Lobby killed them. I know of a man who has a CNG vehicle in my little town, but no one liked the 200 mile refuel stops, and the lack of horsepower, or the lack of filling stations.

We should have a Movie Booth that, reruns this very informative Documentary, HEAT".

We should "Show and Tell" the Washington buses which run off CNG, and describe the fill up facility in DC. They have Hydrogen Powered Busses in Germany, we should have a couple at the March. "Show and Tell" how home refill of CNG can be done overnight at our homes (that is the big breakthrough in todays sense)..

That is my view on DEMONSTRATING THE CNG VEHICLE.

Hey, when we get done, big oil won't be ABLE to kill that stuff because too many people will know about them and demand them!!!!!! I haven't seen the whole documentary but I'll watch it. If it's supportive of our cause (and it sounds like it is) I think the movie would be a plus!

As far as vehicles go - the way I see it is... we need some that are available NOW... and we need to CONTINUE developing better alternatives going forward. No resting on our laurels now that we have this going at long long last. I want a hydrogen cell Equinox darn it!
We would love to provide vehilces for this march. Our American Fuel Vehicles work in todays infrastructure right now. We have some already built and for sale and we can build more for marchers that want them.

Hello Jeff, thank you for your interest.

We are the only fuel system up-fitter in the state of utah that is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers. All of our CNG fuel system upgrades are EPA compliant and integrate with OBD II. In Utah, only our Intergalactic built NGV's adhere to CGA, NFPA 52, USDOT, FMVSS, NGV2.2007 and NGV3.1. We build premium, bi-fuel, tri-fuel, multi-fuel, hydrogen (H2), methane (CNG), propane (LPG), electric (EV, HEV & PHEV), biodiesel (B100), SVO and ethanol (E85) automobiles, appliances and infrastructure.

If you are looking for the Federal tax credit, you will have to pay more to get less. Only dedicated fuel vehicles qualify for the incentive, and only vehicles over 8,000 GVWR make economic sense to recoup the extraneous cost involved with a dedicated fuel vehicle that does not work everywhere in todays infrastructure. Adding enough fuel storage capacity to give a dedicated fuel vehicle enough range to be viable is cost prohibitive in most applications. We also offer dedicated fuel systems for H2, CNG LNG, and LPG that do qualify for the pork available at the trough. Only Intergalactic built, American Fuel Vehicles work in todays infrastructure while paving the highway to a brighter future.

In addition, we offer technician training and franchising if you either want to build the vehicle of your dreams, or manage an Ecolonomic based business that is good for more than just the triple bottom line. With our RE-fuel centers and beyond compliance AFV's copied all over the country, the USA has the ability to drive clean and petroleum free. We measure our success, by the number of our ides that are copied amongst our competitors in the industry. We are leading the Clean Fuel Revolution and with Solutionaries like yourself driving clean too, we all get to be a part of another American Moment.

Thank You!

Tai, thanks for coming.
That's great Tai!! Stay tuned. Hopefully we'll have a date (along with some "governing principles" I am sure!!) and will be able to make more concrete plans. We are waiting as patiently as we can.... ;-)

I am very new to this concept of reducing our dependence on foreign oil, so my question may be asked and answered already , however, how do we get the infrastructure for CNG vehicles. Who sets up the filling centers for "fill ups" with natural gas?.I'm sure the large oil companies would love to take control of natural gas markets as well, but do we really want this? I have more questions but this is a start! lol
How about a Drive to Survive event that converges on the DC Mall--where the March on DC terminates?
