Pickens Plan Supporters attending Windpower 2009 Conference

Windpower 2009 will provide a venue for Pickens Plan supporters to gather together. Perhaps with enough interest we can entice Boone to attend a rally and provide a real shot of adrenaline.

Although the Pickens Plan and AWEA have an open partnership, I have not been able to find any other Group or Discussion which provides a link between the two.

The purpose of this Group is to attract Pickens Plan members who are also registered to attend the Windpower 2009 Conference & Exhibition scheduled for May 3rd (Pre-conference and kick off party) through May 7th. The thought being this would provide Pickens Plan members an excellent opportunity to meet and greet on a national and even global level.

Most of us attending will be doing so for purposes not directly associated with the Pickens Plan; however, with enough interest or Group Membership this may also be an opportunity for Boone to take notice and personally rally his supporters. And for those attendees who are not members of the New Energy Army, a signed pledge may be a ticket into the rally.

I'm starting to feel like I know all his funny lines before he says them. It was nice to see him receive the Industry Person of the Year award and that the new President of AWEA and Boone are long time co-laborers/advocates. Attending the conference and visiting all the exhibits really got my passion flowing and hope that locally we can help to move the mission forward - especially the Renewable Energy Standard - RES. Nov. 3-5 AWEA will have their wind conference in Orlando. I plan to attend and perhaps we could organize a local delegation to participate together.

We would love to attend the 2009 Windpower confernce but will be unable to.

This is only due to lack of funding at this time.
