Yep. I bet it works well too. You'll see when you get there. The place sort of branches out from the main biulding and it's hard to tell a guide from a visitor. I had a camera around my neck and still a lot of folks took me for a volunteer. Next time I'll have my Pickens shirt on and a clipboard in my hand.I'll be glad to guide them..Like I said before if you're into nature and sealife you'll quickly discover this is no chore..

Hey Ted,

Keep up the good work and efforts. When you get blank stares, just explain that we are getting signatures on a Petition to Congress to pass a law that says that the USA will be off foreign energy dependency in 10 years. Once one person signs you will be surprised how many more will jump on board. I have found it beneficial to buy a cheap clip board. Download 10 or 20 sign up sheets and just keep it with me in my car and when I get a few people that are receptive just say all I need is your name, email address zip and phone and I usually write it up myself because I can read my own scribble better than other peoples writing. It is easy to get 5 or more at a time that way.

So what are you saying would be the best way to go on Saturday just stand around with sign up sheets at the Park?

I'm going to try to get the ok from the City of Boca for future events and just regular exposure there. I'm thinking thisSaturday would be a good trial run, There'll be lots of people and they're all friendly, chatty, receptive.I was mistaken for a volunteer repeatedly just for be freindly.
I tried again tonight to get people to respond to the PickensPlan. When I pcked up a pizza I offerred to double the tip if anyone knew what the PickensPlan was. I got blank stares, left my card and gave an explanation (and a tip), We gotta get the word out!! I'm shooting for visibility, recognition. We have support from some environmental groups but I don't know which of hand. If you want signatures there will be opportunities just not a formal set up in the park. I can't imagine sneaking in a set up table in the crowd, The place is manned by volunteers but I'm sure an unauithorized booth of any sort would shooed away just because it'll be in the way.

I suppose we could just show up on Saturday and get signatures outside the park. Ted is there a place where people will be gathering, like waiting for shuttle busses or something. If we siet up a table there we would probably be far enough out of site of the managers, plus they are going to be so busy taking care of small fires throughout the day. What do yo think Ted and Jennifer??

Here is a link to Gumbo Limbo Park in Boca Raton. Mar 7 will bw a huge day for them and while we can't set up a table (I'm working on gaining future access), there will be loads green friendly people. Admission is free but a $5 donation is suggested not required. Parking is free and offsite parking and free shuttles will be running.It's a neat city park. I just got back from there. Sorry to say most of the people working and/or visiting never heard of the Pickens Plan. Maybe I better check my mouthwash.http://gumbolimbo.org/ee/programs/calendar-details/event_turtle_day/

Chris. I'm sure that's the answer they have to give but it won't prevent me from showing up in Pickens regalia with bumper sticker on my car and passing out cards to anyone who is receptive. I'm going over there in a few minuutes to check it out. Will report later.

The person responsible for the activities at Gumbo Limbo said that they cannot allow any kind of petitions to be signed at the park since they are a state run facility.
