The Tesla idea was more of a really cool example of the technology that is currently already out there and available to draw attention then anything else.... Many times, people think of some little box when they think electric cars and that just does not have to be the case.

Obvious proof that the capability is already in place and that the right promotion can push it to be more mainstream....

Instead of buying Tesla's, perhaps we Realtor's should find local places that will convert our cars to natural gas. $1500 sounds like a pretty good deal. At $120 per week in gasoline, I am guessing it would have a 1-2 year payback for most Real Estate Agents.

I really like the idea of filling up in my garage as well. No need to go to gas stations or pay the fuel tax.

In the Kansas Board of Realtor's we have 9,500 make that 8,500 licensed Realtors.

Besides that, I want Tesla Motors to reserve one of those new KA electric cars for me to drive up and down the strip... :)

Hello Jay,

That's going to happen. My first goal on setting this group up is to get as many real estate agents as possible involved in promoting alternative energy including Solar energy or whatever is appropriate for their areas on their websites and blogs.

As you may know, I have multiple real estate blogs and participate in multiple real estate related forums and really am concentrating on having real estate agents promote all of the new technology available in stopping the bleeding of over $700 Billion leaving our country every year.

I'm not so much a techie green guy -- just a guy that understands what it means when so much money is being drained from our economy. Interestingly, shortly after my blog over at Active Rain promoting the Pickens Plan, I was checking the google analytics of my website and had some visitors from Abu Dhabi. (Read that blog and you'll see that I highlighted their sovereign fund purchasing the Chrysler Building the day before.)

Anyways... my first goal is to get at least 1,000 real estate agents in this group that can bring attention to their local SOI. We'll go from there....

Good Idea Jay. Instead of contributing money every year for the PAC for self interests, the lobbying efforts should be going to long term solutions.

Not that they have ever represented my views, but perhaps we can get GLVAR's PAC to endorse the plan? We should meet and devise a strategy.....Jay
