Hi Everyone... i havent been back since the group was created... my apologies.

first off, regarding someone's post about comments being deleted... i did not delete anythign and if things were removed, that sucks and it wasn't me.

secondly... to Allen. i already did baby! i have my repub 4 obama button, hat and shirt on display in my office!

not sure about you guys, but i logged in to a hoorang of negative comments on my personal page for being an obama supporter... sad how rude people are, isnt it?

Greetings! Life-long Republican and supporter of Barrack Obama since shortly after he declared. Member of MoveOn.org and Operation Democracy for over a year. Why? Because I'm a disenfranchised party member who is ashamed, disgusted, and even a little scared of the path this country is /has been led down by my party the last 20 years.

I have always been an environmentalist, even before I celebrated the very first Earth Day when I was in fourth grade! A little background: 19 years in the Army, 16 as an Officer. Studies at UNL consisted of majors in geology and english, minors in physics, chemistry, history and psychology. Always had an interest in alternative energy sources. Occasionally brew a batch of WVO into bio-diesel for my 94 Chevy pickup. Saw my first windfarm outside of Livermore, CA in 1975, Beth, and understood the ramifications of what I was seeing back then.

I just wish more people would understand what we're really in Iraq for. It has absolutely nothing to do with Al-Qaida or WMD's. It has everything to do with the world's third largest known oil reserves. The American public was duped hook, line, and sinker, and the current administration more closely resembles the administrations of Mousilini or Hitler in their methodology, than that of a free and open democracy. Greed, corruption, perjury, and this is the minor stuff!

On a lighter side, Austin, eh? Great place, been there a few times, would just love to get there for SXSW as I'm a major blues fan! We have this little place up here in Lincoln called the Zoo Bar. Just celebrated its 35th aniversary last week. Over the past thirty years I've been going there, I've seen the likes of The Vaughn Brothers (Stevie Ray and Jimmy both together and seperately), Robert Cray, Elvin Bishop, Koko Taylor, Indigenous, B. B. King, Charlie Musselwhite, Luther Alison, Muddy Waters and scores more, all in a little dive that holds 180 people and is known in blues circles globally.

Anyway, something more concrete from Obama would be appreciated, but I have a feeling we won't hear anything more definitive until after the conventions are over, and the two of them really start slugging it out.

Welcome Richard. I have enjoyed this website because people share so much and exchange ideas. TBPickens says in his ad that drilling for oil is not the answer this time to get us out. He also says the new president ideally would be supportive of this plan. I'm sure you have seen his ad on TV. That is why I joined this Obama group because he is the one that fits the criteria at this time. Some concrete proposals on Obama's part would be awesome. He has a general plan but not even Pickens has a detailed step-by-step plan. What do you mean about comments deleted and being banned? Stay and share your ideas!

I guess suggesting Obama add some concrete proposals for renewables and people read his energy plan on his website means comments get deleted. Will I also be banned from this group? Is this group about renewable energy or just an ad for Obama?

Hi guys! I am so excited that TBPickens is launching this plan. I saw an enormous wind farm in West TX on my way to California on a road trip 2 summers ago and I was so impressed. I'm "Fired up, ready to go"!! Obama has been talking about renewable energy from the start. He has talked about green collar jobs since before last year. That is primarily what caught my attention. I guess Barack will have to put up a white board on an easel, take a marker and sketch some pie charts, turbines, dollar amount venn diagrams, and a time line for people to "hear" him! I wish he would so people would quit saying he does not show interest in this plan.
