I have started a Regional group, welcoming comments, ideas, and suggestions for Renewable Energy in the NW Region. Including states from the Pacific, Cascade and Rocky Mountain areas. I realize that some of my Pickens Plan friends are outside this region, but you are always welcome to join and add your thoughts to the discussion. We should be looking a best available sources of energy in our region, and ways to improve the power grid to transfer energy from region to region as it is needed.

We are starting a GoogleMap of homes that use all forms of renewable energy. The goal is to allow anyone to put thier home on the map so we can start to visually demonstrate areas of concentration vs. areas where we need to do more work. In a review of the true costs of energy generation, Mark Z. Jacobson has released a paper that looks at true cost of alternative energy sources. To do this he looked at how these forms of energy are then used to power vehicles. This is the by far the largest need of energy in our society and it has the largest ecological and environmental impacts of our energy use. His conclusion is that we will need a multi-modal approach but wind energy generation is by far the greenest option. That is followed by concentrated solar collection, that is using mirrors/reflection devices to concentrate the heat of solar radiation to heat a liquid to turn energy turbines. This is exactly the type of research that needs to be done to move us into the future.

dropped one off already in burlington..plan to go tomorrow and see what interest I can stir up for the Pickens plan with voters and ask for their help. I have been taking copies to people at the hospital where I work and getting their involvement also. Its a small thing to do but its gratifying to see it develop more and more. Sharon

Did you deliver a copy of the petition to Obama or McCain's office? Can you deliver a copy on election day? If so, please let me know! We're hoping to get petitions to all candidate's offices (or political party offices) in all 50 states by the end of election day. It's real easy and a great way to get involved.
