Slow Down and Save Money and Gas

There is a growing grass roots effort by many Americans to slow down and save money and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Many people have realized savings of 25% to 40% overnight. This effectively cuts the cost of gas from $4/gal to $3/gal.

How slowing down helps save gas

There is a growing grass roots effort that many Americans are taking control in their own hands to save money on gasoline and in a small way reduce our dependence on foreign oil! They are doing something so simple, but amazingly effective to reduce the effective cost of gasoline from $4/gal to $3/gal overnight. And it does not cost them a nickel. There is no spending money to save money - no buying a hybrid car or amy car in fact. They are able to save money with the present gas guzzler they already own. It only takes a commitment of a few minutes each day to this patriotic cause. The answer is to SLOW DOWN!

Most people are saving 25% - 40% by setting their cruise control to 55 mph.
If everyone did this, we could further reduce the effective cost of gas to $2/gal by the end of the summer.

There are hundreds of Web sites dedicated to this movement and describing all the additional fringe benefits that come with it.
It is not just a selfish way to save money, it is also a patriotic act to help reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
Plus it has these other benefits
- Reduced emissions to contribute to global warming
- Fewer fatal accidents
- Less stress
- Fewer stops at the gas station (on a long trip this can partially offset the extra time it takes due to driving slower).
- Reduced insurance premiums in the future, maybe.

Some people need to be educated. There are some that do not understand or even believe you can save so much by slowing down. They do not understand aerodynamics. They do not understand that the drag goes up with the square of the velocity. We need to spread the word!

I GUESS THE DRIVERS WHO EXCEED THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT ARE NOT CONCERNED ABOUT SAVING OIL, MONEY OR IMPROVING HIGHWAY SAFETY.

THE AMERICAN TRUCKING ASSOCIATION SHOULD WORK WITH THEIR MEMBERS TO REDUCE HIGHWAY SPEED AND SAVE MILLIONS OF GALLONS OF FUEL.......BY JUST DRIVING THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT.
B.GREEN Comment by B.GREEN on October 2, 2008 at 1:33pm
ENERGY CONSERVATION / FUEL EFFICIENCY WILL GET RESULTS NOW....

WITH THE MANY WAYS TO REDUCE THE DEMAND FOR OIL, THE STEP WITH THE MOST IMMEDIATE RESULT IS THAT OF FUEL CONSERVATION ...... OR DRIVING THE SPEED LIMIT. THERE ARE A FEW VOLUNTEERS WHO HAVE REDUCED SPEED BUT THE GENERAL DRIVING PUBLIC HAS NOT YET JOINED THE PROGRAM.
SINCE OUR LIFE STYLE WAS DEVELOPED ON CHEAP ENERGY, THE GOVERNMENT AND OIL COMPANIES MUST STAR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS TO OUTLINE PERSONAL SAVINGS AND REDUCTION IN OIL DEMAND THAT CAN RESULT FROM REDUCING DRIVING SPEED.

You can slow down or do the following. Both would be nice

I want people to energetically, aggressively, nicely push the American Automobile manufacturers to build the HEV (hybrid electric vehicle). This vehicle will reduce consumption of any alternative energy and reduce carbon.

The HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) can use many alternative energies. It is the most flexible automobile available. It’s not being built to use the following with the exception of gasoline/diesel but it can be.

HEV – flex fuel,
HEV – hydrogen (water)
HEV – dirty hydrogen (NG)
HEV – NG
HEV – LNG
HEV – LPG
HEV - CNG
HEV - H2
HEV – E85
HEV – gasoline – not an alternative energy; however it is available. HEV = less consumption
HEV – diesel – not an alternative energy; however it is available. HEV = less consumption
HEV – solar? Future
HEV – plasma? Future
HEV – etc, etc, etc, etc, etc

The HEV – (plug in) can be used with any of the above. If the fuel is combustible it can be used. What the HEV allows is less consumption of any fuel used. None of the alternative energy fuels above are available in quantity. Demand is the problem if we want to wean ourselves off Middle Eastern oil.

The HEV is an EV a hybrid EV. Many people don’t think of it as being an electric vehicle.

The hybrid can be built to be as fast and sturdy as any sports car, SUV or Truck manufactured today. Eaton is currently building a truck for Fed X and others.

Less Waste Oil In The Environment

A few months back I started my own independent distributor company promoting the benefits of using premium synthetic oils instead of petroleum based lubricating oils. Approximately 1% of a barrel of oil is used to make lubrication products. That may not seem like much until you consider that this country uses 20,730,000 barrels of oil per day. That’s 207,300 bbl/day that’s being used to make motor oils, greases and other lubricating products alone. At $125.00 a barrel, that’s almost $9.5 billion a year going overseas for foreign oil just for lubrication products. Almost $26,000,000 a day could be stopped from going overseas today and every day starting tomorrow, not in ten years, if we just switched from petroleum lubricants to premium synthetic lubricants.

The California Environmental Protection Agency and its Integrated Waste Management Board has embarked on a statewide “3,000 Mile Myth” public information campaign to educate drivers on reducing motor oil consumption.
See what others are saying about using an extended drain program.
There are many other benefits from using premium synthetic lubricants. Such benefits as lower cost through extended drain intervals which produces less waste oil; better wear protection for longer engine life and better fuel economy (up to 8.3%) with less carbon emissions.
For those of you who have a fleet of vehicles, here is an actual case study of how an owner has saved thousands of dollars for his company.
Aside from the economic benefits it’s just The Right Choice for the Environment.

Feel free to give me a call to discuss anything about the Pickens Plan or how to reduce your oil consumption through the use of premium synthetic oils. The best time to catch me in the office is around the noon hours CST. My toll free number can be located on my website at http://www.InnovativeSynthetics.com

I just made another slow-speed run (55) from NJ to DC and nearly get creamed by truckers doing 80. I don't want to hear any more truck drivers whine about fuel costs killing them when they could slow down and cut fuel consumption by 10 percent or more. It's simply dangerous out there to run 55 on the interstates. Obama says to get a tune-up and check your tire pressure. I don't know why he didn't say SLOW DOWN. As we learned in the 70's, it saves fuel AND lives.
