Haven't been able to get a response from the pickens team on an idea. Maybe you have some pull some where. Assuming the new wind farm is on hold, why not setup a fund to add a windmill to an existing wind farm ? I would contribute to it. My original reason for joining was to increase the use of wind energy !

let's have the pharmaceutical industry and the northern california cash crop growers sit down together to finger out how to legalize, mass produce, tax and build a profitable, sustainable, healthy business together.
% of profits go to solar, wind, geo-thermal, bio-fuel and sustainable resources!

My idea is to utilize the $25 Billion President-elect Barack Obama proposed to invest in rebuilding America's roads by painting them with reflective paint to reflect solar energy in an effort to offset the loss of glaciers. In the near future this project could mature to begin working with solar paint to absorb solar energy to utilize for street lights, electric cars, etc.
Reasons I believe this is an idea worth pursuing:
a.) Blacktop absorbs and holds heat and heats up cities.
b.) Painting roads would be a good way to equally distribute global cooling and reverse global warming.
With kind regards,

I’m new to PickensPlan and have been looking for the right groups to join. I think this one comes closest.

My interests are in an “end to end” solution, call it an “energy economy” that includes energy sources, distribution, and consumption. I began my alternative energy research almost three years ago when I discovered that when technologies are considered individually, it’s difficult to cost justify any one piece. However, when considered as a system—an end-to-end energy economy—synergies come into play. The result of my research was writing a book about the derivation of what I call a “Carbonless Electric Economy” that would be a complete replacement of our current fossil fuel-based energy economy. I know this may sound ambitious, but in this case, the synergies of considering a complete solution result in the entire system be self-funding.

While I share many of the goals of Mr. Pickens and commend him for his efforts, I believe there is a better approach. I have started a discussion group “A Carbonless Electric Economy” that is located here:
http://push.pickensplan.com/forum/topic/show?id=2187034%3ATopic%3A1393134

I have more information at my article here: http://tinyurl.com/CarbonlessElectricEconomy

I’m glad I found your group and I’m looking for feedback.

Hello to all,
Let me start by thanking everyone who is part of the search for solutions to our collective independence from foreign oil and climate endangering use of gasoline and diesel vehicle fuel.
One of the largest obstacles locally to T. Boone’s plan is the lack of open to the public CNG fueling stations, and the fact that few if any are in the planning stages. To correct this and allow for Central Florida to become part of the solution to our collective problem, I am looking for assistance from legal and accounting professionals that would be part of a group to study the feasibility of establishing a not for profit corporation.
The not for profit corporation would be used to jump start the establishment of Central Florida CNG and Hydrogen fueling stations that would be open to the public. By establishing open to the public CNG and Hydrogen fueling stations the public would be encouraged to purchase or convert vehicles to CNG, and would allow companies like Honda to make available Hydrogen vehicles like the FCX Clarity. At present Honda is producing the FCX Clarity only in limited quantities and those vehicles will not be available anywhere in the southeastern U.S. because we have no open to the public Hydrogen fueling stations.
I am also looking for people with prior fund raising experience and volunteers that would be interested in pushing this agenda. Anyone who is interested in discussing this further is encouraged to contact me either by Pickens Plan email or forum post on the Local projects group forum “Starting a CNG fueling station”

I found this article that shows that someone has thier thinking caps on:
http://www.greenchipstocks.com/articles/plug-in-hybrids/276

To sum it up GM will release in 2010 a Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle that delivers 8 miles of all electric range before the hybrid engine kicks in. Small step but if GM pulls it off they will replace Toyota as number 1 in the world market. GM will also force other car manufacturers to step up to the plate.
There are some problems with electric car technology when it comes to the batteries they will use. Check out this article.

You read that right, 170 MPG equivalent! The KWh energy usage when converted to the amount of KWh energy contained in a gallon of gasoline, tells a compelling story of where we are headed and what is possible by adopting electric drivetrains for automobiles.

One of my favorite electric plug in vehicles is the Wrightspeed X-1 developed and built by Ian Wright. Please read and enjoy the excerpt taken from the Wrightspeed.com website.

"The X1 prototype is just the beginning. It meets its design specs of 0-60 in 3 seconds, 170 mpg equivalent; and at 1536 lbs, is only 36 lbs over the design target of 1500. It really does raise the performance driving experience to a new level, even for racing drivers. No clutch, no shifting, precise and immediate control of torque in drive and braking, perfect traction control…first gear takes you to 112mph…

In recent track testing, on street tires, it achieved the following performance:
0-30 mph: 1.35 sec
0-60 mph: 3.07 sec in 117 ft
0-100 mph: 6.87 sec
0-100-0 mph 11.2 sec
Lateral g: 1.3
Braking g: 1.2

Electric propulsion drivetrains are far superior to any IC engine design. They provide power at any speed and do so much more efficiently. The combination of effective electric propulsion drivetrains with smaller displacement IC engines creates a killer app combination that is unsurpassed in efficiency, practicality, convenience and performance. With proper design and construction, it is possible to have it all while gaining more mobility and freedom in the process and losing nothing in return.

The wrightspeed may not be totally practical for everyone but it demonstrates the viability and proof of concept that completely validates electric propulsion technology use in automobiles. When used effectively and properly, gasoline and diesel IC engines can be much smaller and efficient when applied as electric only recovery power generating plants.
