Boone is obviously doing this to make money by cornering the large-scale wind-generation market. However, if he is able to convince enough legislators and companies to significantly invest in alternate energy rather than continuing to burn hydrocarbons, I don't care if he makes a billion dollars in the process. I am convinced that solar cells will ultimately become the mass-market electricity generator of choice, but until that happens we need all the alternate power sources we can get: wind, tidal, geothermal and solar.

I like Pickens plan to achieve energy independance, but would like to see a multi alternative energies approach. Residential solar roof tops , to distribute power production, cut down on transmission losses, and power grid vulnerabilites. Get private transportation off Oil, Electric cars, compressed air cars, etc

I too believe that wind and solar both should be utilized.
