Thanks to everyone for taking the time from your busy Saturday to join us for the first Tulsa area meeting. There were 25 people there, which was a great start!. And special thanks to the presenters: John Miggins, Standard Renewable Energy; Randy Bacon, Native American Founders Consulting; and Mike Abbey, CNG advocate. The discussion was very lively, and got us all thinking about what we will need to do over the next few months. There isn't a lot of time, and we have to enroll a lot of friends, coworkers and family. I suggested that our statewide goals should be 1 million endorsers by the end of the year. With those kind of numbers we can not only influence our elected officials, but create significant demand for wind/solar/CNG products and services. This will be hard work, and will require constant attention from the core group. I look forward to working with you all as we bring T Boone's vision to reality in Oklahoma. Some pix and the meeting highlights are being posted on NE Oklahoma Region Group. For those in the Tulsa area, please join us on Aug 9 for the next meeting.

First of all, Thanks for joining the Picken's Plan groups. Next, let's hear how your meetings went and share with the state how you want this to go for Oklahoma.
I am not a task master, but I do know we will do better with a slightly different structure, so that all of Oklahoma gets included and no one group runs the show. If you want your group to run the show, then make it the state group, but no rivalry to detract from the important business of making this program work for us all.
Here is what I sent to the Oklahomans for ...yada, yada... With the state flag...
Just be nice...
To ALL Oklahoma Members. The Oklahoma City group is going to have another meeting at 4PM at the Border's book store at 3209 NW Expressway , Sunday afternoon. If you missed the first meeting, this is an event not to miss! We need more people to show up and find their position for Picken's Plan. Perhaps you don't know what that is? We will help you find your best fit. If you want to see how the State is doing, you need to check out the Cowboy's group and see how they are amassing at the border themselves! We need to be acquainted to all groups, so move around and find the movers and shakers. Norman group is active also, but we need rural participation, and even though you may not get to a meeting, you are a serious part of our organization.
If I can be so bold as to suggest a change in how we are interacting for our state, I would like to see a singular central, state group and several local groups under the state group. If there is something important being discussed, as is the case most of the time, the state as a whole should be interacted. If you have some local issue or idea, you should be able to have some independence to do you own good work in your own group and once you have a result you want to share, then report it to the state group. The reason this is so important, is that rural and city groups will compete and it works against consensus and beneficial discourse.
Open this up for discussion and consider taking the flag to the state major group to avoid confusion. Agreed or disagree?? Let me know! Gregor Smith OKC gregors@att.net You can send your issues privately to my regular email for anonymity and I will bring them up generically to the entire groups.
OK, let me know....And Cowboy group, you are awesome organizers! If you have the leaders, then let's see what we can do together? Tulsa has it's group and soon other towns will do the same. But if we have a major event in Oklahoma, everyone should get an invite and they won't, unless we clean up the communication system. That means consolidation or rearranging components. Which is easier? Better? Tell us about your parties and show photos if you have them. Thanks, Gregor Smith OKC gregors@att.net also a member of the Leadership group and Solar Energy....

I have talked with a few folks, and July 26 looks like it would be a good time for us all to get together and get acquainted. I have reserved a meeting room at the Panera at 71st and Garnett from 1-3PM. If you want to come a little early and have lunch, I will be there at 11:30.

Since I have absolutely no idea of how many may show up, I told them to expect 10-15. For those who cannot come, this will be just the first meeting. We will schedule the next, possibly in OKC.

I would suggest the following agenda:

* introduce ourselves
* review the PickensPlan to make sure we are all hearing the same thing.
* a little familiarization on what is wind power, CNG for transportation
* ideas on how we can push the Plan
* Next action steps

If anyone has other thoughts let me know.

I am posting this on all the Oklahoma groups so we can get everyone connected.

See you on the 26th.

Phil
