Hey Folks,
I had a great meeting that lasted about an hour and a half with Mike Poulson. He is well aware of the Pickens Plan. He said that the Congresswoman would be happy to send a letter on our behalf to Mr. Pickens. He didn't know how Mr. Pickens staff would view it but thought we should take a shot. He also said we need to unify our voices locally to get him here.
We discussed the long history of bringing about a real change in America's energy future. We discussed Oil, Coal Wind and Solar. The good points and the bad. The Congresswoman also believes that we need to bring all of our options to the table. Additionally we discussed the environmental concerns that exist with putting all options on the table. It is a big concern for me personally. We have the technology but that doesn't mean we have responsible people in place who will be good stewards of the Earth. As Americans we have grown cynical and distrustful of both big corporations and politicians. They've been in bed together for too long.
Who do we trust? We trust ourselves. We trust in America and WE are America.
We need to take it upon ourselves to see this change through and hold their feet to the fire. WE are responsible for the success or the failure of this mission to bring an end to not only our dependence on foreign oil but we need to stop exporting it as well.
Thanks...and I'll see some of you tomorrow as we hand out cards at Pig out in the Park.
Carol
I was glad Carhy McMorris-Rodgers didn't fold and give into the S&L bailout ! she dug her heels in and refused to let go of taxpayers money. Now, more than ever we need to hear from her om the energy front, ie, where she stands on the Picken's Plan and my concern, when is she going to begin voting for vererans issues, a place where she sits dead last according to ALL veterans groups. THEN she'll earn my vote.
