And I've already had some confirmations! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.
The over all Plan is to:
1) Identify our group goal.
My goal is to get the word out in a big way for Spokane. To accomplish this I have several symbols
of the P.P. I would like to use so that they are identifiable when local people see them. I'll tell you more when I meet you!
I want to generate enough interest locally that we can get Mr. Pickens here for a town hall meeting.
He has started doing them and it would really be great if we could get him here...although I know this is a pretty tall order.
If we are able to get him here then I believe our local and state reps will sit up and take notice and maybe even attend.
What would you like to discuss / get accomplished? You can let me know here or if you want to wait and discuss it at the meeting thats fine. I'll follow up with a post to this page letting folks know what the outcome of the meeting was.

I love Rosie....when it came time to pull together and roll up our sleeves.....she was your girl. Plus she kept the home fires burning.
I thought she was a good icon to promote....rolling up our sleeves is exactly what were doing.
I couldn't find the Teddy cartoon Richard mentioned. If you find it Richard, send it along and I'll add it to this page.
Jeff Pyper mentioned below that we need to identify some immediate issues. I really like his thinking! lets talk about the outline of the group and the end goal. We exist to promote the Pickens Plan, strike while the iron is hot...meaning while gas prices are still high and people are ticked and want answers as to why nothing has been done so far. We knew this day was coming...maybe we relied to heavily on someone else taking care of this problem. Maybe we never REALLY thought this day was going to come...yet, here we are. Most importantly though...we ignored this issue until we coulld ignore it no longer.
This really isn't about what is good for us today. We will be paying this price for some time. It's our kids that I'm most concerned about. We are dumping a huge problem on THEIR doorstep. We need to step up and get moving in this direction...
If for no other reason then to buy them some time to work on some alteratives. It's the very least we can do to insure energy for their future.
I've got some ideas that I'm looking forward to sharing with this group at the PP house party next week .
Since this is the first meeting I believe that we should lay out a plan and designate a common goal. Please let me know what you would also like to discuss. It's important to me that all parties are acknowledged and have their ideas considered.

Agreed, we do need to set our own agenda. What can we do here in Spokane? Something we can brainstorm over at a house party and online.

As a group I believe that it is important for us to identify first why we exist. We should start by agreeing on what our purpose is, our mission, goals, ect. These are very basic ingredients for any group to become effective. From there I think we could agree on an action plan.
