Copy,Paste, and Send to everyone you know.

America is sitting on an amazing untapped wind resource, the wind corridor that stretches from Texas to North Dakota...our population is stabilized but our agricultural lands are devastated from decades of food exports.

with bio-char production as dump load regulation,in conjunction with power storage solutions the wind power capacity can go in at an astounding rate...the wind fixes the soil ,the soil sequesters the carbon and gives life......our entire world is unsustainable as is, and the changes required don't stop there...what will it take to get you out of your arm chair?

Mr.Pickens is out of his....and i'm sure as hell not going to tell him to sit down.

New suburban developments are essentially a power hungry process of investing in faulty infrastructure.

A house can be made sustainable....but our Agricultural Systems Are Not !!!!

thanks for your show of support....that's allot. Buying an item at the grocery store represents a long chain of power hungry infrastructure, from the field, to the processing, to the packaging,to the transport... and onto the lighting climate control and refrigeration of the store itself (from there you know the rest)...

Anyway, there are allot of things to talk about on this topic before the ball starts rolling....the first issue of course being the establishment of a precedence (an example,if you will) that others can look too.

all right, got my list of bank owned properties.....made a little SCP model...gotta condense and refine the shpeal (stay tuned for the copy, paste, printable text)

just gotta talk to ma (again).....i've been trying to get this going for so long that i'm beginning to harbor resentment....hahahahaaaaa..the funny thing is she voted for obama...i'm a staunch non-voter...so the really sickening part about it is the thought that she will probably think this "wonderful change" is because we have this new president......(whatever).

A RE:....(thank you, Mr. Mosby)

thanks for the elaborate expression....good brain food (and your web site got the ticker going good too)...

like ya said. " Problem being, is again getting people to change their minds about design and concepts of homes we live in. its installed in our heads what they should be."

yup..in a way were sold transit mix for our row boats.

so here's the edge...it's not so much a residence as a home business...then people get used to walking down the street to pick up fresh produce..(and in winter they take their time warming up and talking with the attendant...nice thoughts are attached to form follows function ,and presto the ball is rolling:)

Letter to Edd....

As you know we are running into times of energy instability, and climate chaos. After examining the data from many sources, it seems we will globally be reaching peak oil in 1.2 years and peak NG shortly thereafter.

i was referred to your desk by another individual at the Green Drinks meeting earlier this month, after expressing a concept i've coined the Suburban Conversion Project.it has no precedence as far as i know, but the concept holds many benefits to our community, our country, and our world.

It all starts with a house ,that isn't worth a lick of paint, but has a full basement in fair shape. the idea is to utilize the basement as solar thermal energy storage by erecting a supper insulated compact framed "cap" with provision for 65 degree south facing multi wall polycarbonate, and a grancrete/styrene border walk.

Yup...an earth sheltered green house. the garage would then be converted to the domicile of the property, with two runs of 6" culvert pipe providing free climate stabilization.

Polycarbonate is 1/20th the cost of Photo Voltaic per unit of solar energy sequestered, making this an ideal format for renewable energy implementation. Also ,as we are essentially indirectly solar powered composting machines, it will help to inch our community toward a net energy gain people fuel infrastructure.

regards,
Eric W. Koch

I'm seeing multi-wall polycarbonate as one tenth the cost of PV with added benifit...heat..water pre-heat...day time lighting....and, as people are indirectly solar powered.....net gain people fuel (what a concept)....

so ya take ten times the solar energy/$....roughly 10x energy/energy then figure store bought produce at 10 calories/ one calorie... and ya get people fuel at a 99% energy discount ( at some point this should begin to make sense...trust me. )

it's good to get to know all a little better...but we gotta keep it on topic,Ok.

"the way it's packed in with a bunch of other houses all attached to the same grocery store umbilical....so we got problems."

Well I wasn't thinking about a reflector for the evac tube collector as they are double walled cylindrical tubes sputtered with an absorbing layer on the inside. and will catch the sun from all directions as long as it is above the ridge line. Reflectors might be a good idea if I put them up in the fall and take them down in the spring. They might just get be covered with snow all winter though. Maybe they would melt the snow away ok. Good thoughts. I have studied the alternative sciences for many years too. Home Power mag and such.
