About This Group

The Pickens Plan has been on Twitter since launching in early July and we’ve recruited over 2,800 followers in that time. It is a great start, but we can do better. This group is about ways we can use Twitter to spread the word about the Pickens Plan.

Here are the steps we can take to help grow the number:

(1) Follow the Pickens Plan on Twitter – http://www.twitter.com/pickensplan

(2) Send out a tweet from your own account encouraging your network to follow @pickensplan.

(3) Join this group and leave a comment on this group’s wall letting me know your Twitter name. I’ll post a list of Push members on Twitter so that we can all connect with each other.

Please let me know if you have any other ideas or suggestions.

And or those of you not familiar with Twitter, it’s a micro-blogging platform that allows you to send out messages of 140 characters or less. Think of it as a sticky note message you can leave for everyone to read. You can also post links to pictures, article, and blogs. Check it out.

This week I used the "contact your Representative(s)"feature on the site AND I submitted a Letter To The Editor to the Patriot News in Harrisburg.

Story link:

Please join me by doing these two things yourself. It is very easy and only takes a few minutes of your time. Or just click on the story link and leave a comment of your own after my story :-)

Hi All,

The Newark Advocate printed a letter to the editor submitted from PickensPlan's Ohio Leader (Veronica Gold) and cosigned by myself thanking our US Rep. Pat Tiberi for his support of the Nat Gas Act of 2009.

See the editorial at http://unhub.com/w7fB

My mom will be so proud!

If you haven't done so please support the Nat Gas Act of 2009 and contact your Congressional Leadership at http://unhub.com/WrBS. Just fill in the form - PickensPlan does the work!

Okay - not my most brilliant moment. In the middle of my 6 mile run tonight I realized it was Beggar's Night in Johnstown, OH. All the businesses in "downtown" were open passing out candy, families were out with their kids and people where milling about. It dawned on me what a great opportunity I was missing to recruit members for the PickensPlan movement on the Nat Gas Act of 2009.

Won't make that mistake again!
