Opening:
Stock Market down. Why your plan better than his.
McCain: angery. Fanny & Freddie start of economic problems. By buying up distressed mortgage.
Obama: Jobs. Families tax break. Education.

McCain - Low taxes to Joe the plumber.

Hello all,

I am a mechanical engineer working on high-pressure compound engines with a energy systems professor at CSU Sacramento. We have completed a very detailed analysis for commercial natural gas HP compound engines. Our results show that we can double the efficiency at 30% load and increase it by 60% at full throttle. These technologies will allow commercial natural gas/flex-fuel engines to surpass the efficiency of the best turbocompound diesels for the first time. Applications are expected to range from 3/4 ton vehicles and up in the transportation sector and between 100-10,000 kW in the distributed generation sector. Most commercial applications are expected to have payback periods from 12-30 months.

Our first stage of develpment leveraging existing diesel long-blocks is commercially viable within 5 years and would offer an estimated 50-75% gain over existing naturally aspirated NG engines. If these technologies are combined with increased NG production and the Pickens Plan, we believe it would be reasonable to cut oil imports by 70% in ten years.

These technologies are applicable for ethanol applications as well, and would provide a large economic incentive for accelerating the development of cellulosic technologies.

I would like to get the word up the ladder to Mr. Pickens if possible. These technologies have been reviewed by engineering professors at three public universities in northern California and are the real deal. The potential economic benefit to the U.S. is measured in the trillions of dollars over the next twenty years. Individual operators and businesses could see their fuel expense cut by over 50% versus diesel.

We hope to get an audience with either the appropriate executives at Cummins, CAT or Detroit Diesel, or with investors that are able to invest in true seed-stage development. Either way, we expect that this information could only help Mr. Pickens message. The biggest push-back from industry for his plan is that current NG engines suffer a large efficiency loss when compared to diesel.

We can reverse that equation...

Best wishes,

David Onstenk

I'm just curious, did anybody from the group go on the Solar Ohio tour that took place last weekend? I feel like an idiot, i should have posted the information about it in the group earlier. Sorry, but I can give information on local solar sytems if anybody is interested. send me a request to my profile if you want directions to the closet solar installations in your are if you do,

Hello Mr. Epps-
I enjoy energy policy in prose, very original.
One question: Who is doing $3000 CNG conversions?
Thanks,

URGENT ACTION NEEDED TONIGHT! PLEASE FORWARD TO YOUR MEMBERS & FRIENDS.

I have been surfing around trying to find an idea for a blog story that would bring us another step closer to reaching our goal for Pledge Signers. I know that Mr. Pickens has met & discussed the Pickens Plan with both candidates in detail. In speeches, I keep picking up on terms that are the 'PICKENS PLAN' verbage from both candidates during interviews too. So I know they are getting the point of what we are demanding for from our next President, notice I didn't say "asking for from our next President" ..... that's progress for me!

As I scanned the Web for current news finally arriving on the ABC News Web Site, I clicked on "George Stephanopoulos".
HOLY COW! A STORY!!!

He is interviewing Sen McCain Sunday Morrning Sept 28th, AND the AWESOME FEATURE IS........
we can send in a question we want George to ask Sen McCain! TAAAAA DAAAAAA!!!!!!

It was so easy!
Here's the URL for getting you on George's Page scan down just a little & you'll see it.
Just fill it out, click & it's on George's Desk for tomorrow morning!
Woohooooo!

Here is the question I sent in:

Senator McCain, I would like to ask, when you win this Election & get into your Oval Office, will you implement an Energy Plan that will reduce our foreign oil dependece by 30% in the next 10 years? Will you be enacting your Energy Plan for this reduction within the first 100 days of your Presidency?
Respectfully, Karen Farrer Pittsburg Texas

Just to give you an idea of how I phrased my own. You can ask ANY question you are wanting an answer for.
I just wanted to hear his answer to the Pickens Plan.

Have a great evening! Im TiVoing George!!

Does anyone have any information on zoning or other local regulations that either permit or otherwise affect wind turbines, PV, and other energy sources?

Sugarbeets produce more usable sugar per acre than corn, and already grow well as far north as Saginaw, Michigan. As a root crop, they can survive hailstorms better than any grass crop (like corn.) Corn is too valuable and expensive to produce for motor vehicle fuel.
