Yesterday Obama announced he'd like Rahm Emanuel, Chicago Congressmen, as his Chief of Staff. Today Emanuel accepted.

I don't know if ya'll remember but Rahm Emanuel participated in Pickens Plan rally back in October, where he showed great support for the Plan (click here to review).

(click here for Rahm Emanuel's interview)

He, along with Rep. Dan Boren from Oklahoma (who's endorsed the Pickens Plan), also introduced the New Alternative Transportation to Give Americans Solutions (NAT GAS) Act to invest in natural gas vehicle infrastructure and provide American drivers a choice of how they fuel their vehicles. Aubrey McClendon of Chesapeake Energy Corp thinks that this shows a "Democratic administration is more likely to pursue the use of CNG as a fuel,'' and that the "Democrats have been very engaged about compressed natural gas in the last few months.'' (click here for full article)

I think these recent events are a very, very good sign. To me it shows Barack Obama may be looking much more closely into the Pickens Plan then originally thought!

Now that the election is complete it is time for us to focus on Boone's 100 day strategy. Our job is a little harder with the economy in turmoil and the price of oil being down. We have to remember this is the point at which we failed in the 1980's. We have to keep the energy crisis at the front of the line even though the conditions have eased.

This is not a time to ease up. It is a time to RAMP UP !!! We have an opportunity to be proactive and address the matter NOW rather than wait until it becomes urgent again. We have to contact our Congress people and let the Obama people know we are watching. The cost of inaction is more financial pain. We have a chance to be ahead of the curve but the margin is small and time is short.

For the children...

I think we should be glad that Boone at least has a plan. A plan is more than I have heard from any elected official. It is easy to find all the problems that will come up. Bring on the problems. People thought JFK was nuts in 1961 for saying we would put a man on the moon in 10 years. For 5 years scientists debated the best way to get to the moon. Imagination got us an new way of thinking it through. Anyone remember what Neil Armstrong did in 1969?

"Drill, Baby, Drill" is not a plan. It is surrender. Boone has a better idea that will give us time to develop the technologies which will set us free from dependence on fossil fuels.

Boone is smart enough to know that his plan is a "bridge" to the use of more renewable energy sources. It at least gives us a place to begin.

It is time to begin the discussion and our job is to stiffen the resolve of politicians and enable the imagination of inventors and technicians. The "Dream" always comes first. Then we figure out how to implement the dream.

The Washington Post reports today that with the fall of oil prices the "urgency" of alternatives will wane. It is up to us to make sure that our friends and the people in Washington do not forget what is at stake. We have an opportunity to deal with the energy crisis NOW. We should keep calling, keep emailing and keep alerting while we have the time. The oil crisis has already changed our habits. I was eating at a popular restaurant chain yesterday and I noticed that the prices were up at least .50 and on some items 1.00 or more. THIS IS THE TIME TO ACT !!!!

The Pickens Plan site is great because you don't have to learn a great deal of HTML to promote this site. A couple of sources can get you going in no time.

One site would be W3Schools, just Google it, their site is so user friendly, and they have instruction and practice modules to assist you. Their search mode is fantastic. If you want to create a link, just type in "create link", greater and far more complicated programming is discussed as well, and one can even earn a certification in programming on line, as the exams are there.

Odds are you looking to keep it simple, squidoo.com has just what the doctor ordered. Their basic HTML tutorial page will be everything you need to make a great Pickens blog.

While your there, make a Squidoo page to advertise your PickensPlan Blog. Check out the page created for Boone Pickens here.

Hope the information will help you promote the Pickens Plan on the net.

It is quite simple to do and not really any different from typing anything else one you get used to it.

Send invitations to your friends: If you click the invite button on your page you can send and invitation to everyone in your email address book at once, and you can also do them one at a time if you wish.

You can automatically email every one of you state and federal elected leaders automatically, for the take action center here on the Pickens Plan.

In addition, CNG Now.com also offers these same capabilities.

If you have any questions or get stuck regarding how to get the word out, do not hesitate to ask.
