Great Plains Energy Summit -- Omaha -- June 17-18, 2009 -- Leaders from the states & provinces of the USA-Canada Wind Corridor are gathering in Omaha, Nebraska on June 17-18 to plan for action in 2010 & beyond. Through the Great Plains Energy Alliance, we are gathering community & regional leaders, state officials, component manufacturers, colleges & universities, wind energy leaders, ranchers, farmers & more. Hello group, I have some exciting news. I have been talking and emailing a legilative assistant for representative Hunter of the Texas state legislature regarding Energy Independence Savings Bonds initiative at the state level. I spoke to him on the telephone and he encourages anyone from Texas, no matter what district in TX, to email him about Energy Independence Savings Bonds for Texas. He stated he will happily forward all correspondence received to the correct representatives in Texas. Representative Hunter is an attorney and Caleb said there are two other attorneys working for Rep. Hunter. It is interesting to hear there is question about the legality of a state level savings bond program similar to the federal level. They are actively working on it and this is great news! Please feel free to pass on this information to anyone from Texas. Here is Caleb's email:

The Eastern half of Washington State is on the east side of the Turbine Highway. You will see few wind farms, no solar sites and no geo-thermal sites as gour state government has, along with the power companies stiffled any private competition by a bedroom Wa. St. Law which limits WA. landowners to only making $1000.00 per annum!

Well, I'm gonna take the law on! and I'm going to enlist as many Eastern Washingtonians to do the same! I'm using North Dakota as my Example, can anyone offer me any other states to use to back up my arguement?

Just a quick note about "Time" magazine, and its credibility on their choice on the "Man of the Year" / Century. For the "Man of the Century", they focused on the "Hitler, or Einstein", but I have a ponderance for you (about the US communication and press objectivity since the Truman era). Can anyone -even- here name -even one- of the persons responsible for the organization of the current world oil distribution formula(s) that affect every single person's life, every day, on this planet, which may potentially remove the human population from this surface, if they are not held accountable, and corrected for, their actions?

I didn't think so...

Hello All,
I just got back from taking the Amtrak from Spokane to Fargo and back and was astounded at the number of wind farms in Montana and North Dakota! Also at the fact that in central North Dakota the stars are so bright I could see constallations I haven't seen since I was a boy in St. Paul in the early `50's!

Keep up the good work and kudos to your governors and state legislators for being as far sighted as to bring about these wind farms before they are called for by the feds. You'll have $$ to pocket and use to tweak your system while the rest of the states play catch up!

Did you deliver a copy of the petition to Obama or McCain's office? Can you deliver a copy on election day? If so, please let me know! We're hoping to get petitions to all candidate's offices (or political party offices) in all 50 states by the end of election day. It's real easy and a great way to get involved.
