Thank you for this group, More awareness to this cause is necessary, people just don't realize the impact of animal product consumption on the environment.

Some people will make money on this; others of us will watch it happen, perhaps pushing it with our enthusiasm, intellect and knowledge, and consumer behaviors. But the vast majority of us will still need to maintain progressive balance ("tipping forward") in our own areas of excellence and expertise.

That we ARE such a diversified and strategically stratified species obliges us, I think, to discern how WE can, in OUR OWN niches of employment and career contributions, making historic changes that improve the overall confluence, even if we're NOT engineering and/or marketing green energy and green behaviors.

We should practice green behaviors, but our specific expertise may morally oblige us to work in entirely different niches, though we are not untouched by these revolutionary transformations taking place.

Compare it with affirmative action in the Western World. Historic changes were taking place, and everyone found herself or himself postured one way or another. But historical change agents, sometimes called activists, who failed to cultivate their OWN excellence may have found themselves outside the trajectory of benefit after the historic transformations were fully established.

Advocacy needs to cultivate excellence with skills that will be perpetually transferrable to new duties discerned in new occasions hitherto unanticipated.

How will a greener world be for those of us who do other things? Can we nudge our professions and employers and trades and industries in positive directions in ways that will establish them more firmly and securely because the emergent future might be wiser than our infrastructure is today?

T. Boone Pickens may be seeing how to make money in the same way KFC and the fast food giants currently serving dead animal flesh should incrementally but surely and slowly shift their 'stock in trade' to entirely vegan (plant-based) menu offerings, retaining their marketing channels with dramatically transformed supply chains.

Others, not in marketing or supply or the science thereof, should consider how most safely they can root themselves so that they don't regret their activism or feel ambivalence from strategic losses suffered from their courageous and selfless giving in the past, before epochal changes unfolded.
