The Wanted Patents, Prototypes, New Products Group on PickensPlan was created on the premise that the most effective way to solve the energy problems is to promote broad and rapid knowledge transfer collectively between scientists, inventors, experts, concern citizens. This "collective intelligence" stretches the boundaries of current visions where innovation is the primary goal.
Collective intelligence is a scientific term used to describe a new form of intelligence that emerges when many individuals simultaneously collaborates and competes to solve problems. Today, the PickensPlan site provides an exciting framework for anyone to reach out to experts from around the world to solve our "Energy Situation". Organizations such as MIT, Wikimedia Foundation, DaimlerChrysler, IBM, Boeing, Hilton, American Express and the BG Consulting Group are harnessing collective intelligence to stimulate groundbreaking ideas. MindPower is a terrible thing to waste just like wind or sun Energy.

I created SEE. I devoted 30 years of my life developing SEE. What is your opinion?

Sincerely,
Thomas Peterson

Monte Smith has sent you a message on PickensPlan

Hey Thomas,

I think it is easier for me to just refer to you as Thomas, Thomas. Especially now that I'm also having exchange with Tom Bailey. I'm sure you caught that in my reply to both Tom and yourself in the email below.

Thomas, so you know....I just now left the HRS private group. Certainly nothing against you or SEE but I can see that I am not going to be able to be effective there in forwarding SEE. The best way that I can serve SEE is to keep pushing ahead with my development of GEEE, which SEE is a core component of. Of course, I will remain as a member in SEE Global and SEE PP and maintain activity in both. The primary use and benefit that I observe for those sites is that they serve to legitimize, introduce and orient new people to SEE. But I do not see that they are all that useful or viable as for the purpose of organizing.

Speaking of GEEE, as I have mentioned before, I have been working (actually stuggling) with writing a proposal for the purpose of pushing GEEE into the next stage of development. Usually, I do not have a problem in getting words onto a page but for whatever the reason I had completely bogged down in regards to writing this proposal. However, late last night I finally broke through the wall of inertia and the words began to flow. At this rate I should have it finished by the end of the week. It will be presented in several parts.

I will write more soon but will use your off PP email.

Have a good week Thomas.

Good way to put it Fred, and yes, I agree with Mr. Flood to a point.
NOT ALL of us are crazy, whacko, ripoff artists.

Mr. Flood,
I do agree that the aforementioned post is out of context, however I feel that you are throwing out the baby with the bath water here. There are many of us that are dedicated to clean energy and energy efficiency.

I continue to post new ideas in energy and offer a plan to make us all energy independent, not only from foreign oil, but from domestic slavery that shackles us the a power grid, that itself wastes more energy that can be utilized if properly administered.

While I joined here on PP because T. Boone is doing something good for energy, I also find that this is not far enough. We need to change the energy paradigm to favor us instead of "them" whomever they may be. Some claim that it necessary for the power and oil companies to remain solvent. I disagree, as it surely fail if nobody can afford electric or fuel. The people must be solvent, or the corporations fail due to lack of consumer support.

Many of us are taking positive steps to fix America, so please discriminate us from those you oppose.

I like the Rabalais entry in this category. It clearly proves how the Pickens Plan has descended from a forum to exchange ideas relating to reducing dependency on foreign oil to a collection of whacky ideas, dubious concepts, shilling for illegal stocks, perpetual motion frauds and other total crap. Congrats, this site is now total BS!!!

I started a discussion group to discuss how to help people with ideas to reach the prototype stage. The address is at the end. The following is the reason why I set it up, but it looks like my group may overlap a lot with this one.

Someone once said that everyone has an idea sometime during their life that could make them millionaires. The only problem is funding and timing.

I independently thought of the mag-train. After research, I learned someone else had thought of it about the time I was born. Bad timing. In addition, it could not be put into operation until the microcomputer was developed, about 10 years after I came up with the idea. Bad timing again.

Many people have had similar experiences. For the purposes of discussion, I am defining an idea as an idea for a product or service based on or utilizing conservation. A concept is actual designs and a working model to show the idea can work. A prototype is a full scale working model of a production ready concept. I wanted to start this group to see if anyone knows how to help someone with an idea get through the concept stage and maybe even prototype.

One thought might be to set up the ability to donate to a non-profit group that would investigate ideas for aspiring inventors. Perhaps the group could be funded by donations, say $25.00 each from a lot of people. This group would be made up of mostly volunteers. They would check the viability of the idea and perhaps help the idea person to develop it. They would also build a list of potential investors interested in particular types of inventions or products and the inventor with that kind of prospective idea or invention who could be referred to each other with the recommendation of the group as an idea that is workable (not the same as marketable). There would have to be legal protections for the inventor. My grandfather designed and built the remote griping devise used in almost every shop in the USA. Mac Tools representative asked to borrow it and Mac soon after came out with the product. My grandfather was glad to share, but others may want a "piece of the action". I would have found out from such a group that my train idea was already out there and not able to be made practical at that time.

Currently, I have an idea for a flying car fueled by hydrogen. The placement of the two blades within a car chassis is not new, the jet powers blades is not new, and splitting water to hydrogen and oxygen is not new, but the way I believe they can be put together is. There are only two things I still need to know, one is after splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen getting them into separate containers. This knowledge should already be out there, but can it be done on a small scale. The second is flow and mix regulators for hydrogen/oxygen jets. Again, this technology should already be out there. Everything else would be electric with the spinning blades generating plenty of electricity for all other applications. A working electric motor model flying car may even be found in the toy store. It is the mix of all of these other concepts that formulates my idea and that it will look like a car and be the size of a car, a large full sized car. Right now this is just an idea and worth nothing. If it could be developed to concept and prototype a whole new AMERICAN industry might develop; renewable fuel clean economical flying car, especially if it could be built for under $100,000 each. Who knows.

But this group is not about me, but about other people's ideas and how they might be able to be developed (maybe mine as well :)). I place my idea here just as an example of what might be out there to develop. I saw another idea expressed for a wind generator that would fit over a politician's mouth, unlimited amounts of energy. Please contribute your ideas and thoughts.

Chinese firm becomes top patent applicant for 1st time in 2008

(Kyodo News International (Tokyo) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Jan. 28--DAVOS -- A Chinese firm for the first time became the world's top patent applicant in 2008, the World Intellectual Property Organization said in a report released Tuesday
Huawei Technologies Co., a major telecommunications company based in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province in southern China, filed 1,737 international patent applications under WIPO's Patent Cooperation Treaty in the reporting year, followed by Japan's Panasonic Corp. with 1,729, the report said.

Panasonic topped the list in the previous year for the first time.

Among other top applicants in 2008, Royal Philips Electronics N.V. of the Netherlands came third with 1,551 applications and Toyota Motor Corp. fourth with 1,364 applications.

Among other Japanese firms, Fujitsu Ltd. ranked 10th, NEC Corp. 12th and Sharp Corp. 13th.

By country, the United States was the largest patent applicant with an estimated 53,521 applications, followed by Japan with 28,744 applications. They were followed by Germany with 18,428, South Korea with 7,908 and France with 6,867.

While the standings of the top five remained unchanged from 2007, China moved up to sixth from seventh, replacing Britain which slid to 7th.

Patent applications filed worldwide in 2008 grew by 2.4 percent from the previous year to an all-time high of an estimated 163,800, WIPO said.

WIPO is a U.N. organization dedicated to promoting the use and protection of intellectual property and began receiving such applications in 1978.

Filing a patent under WIPO's treaty provides international protection of an invention from all signatory states without the need for multiple applications.
