BG Consulting Group Why "COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE" is needed?

The Wanted Scientists Group on PickensPlan was created on the premise that the most effective way to solve the energy problems is to promote broad and rapid knowledge transfer collectively between scientists. This "collective intelligence" stretches the boundaries of current visions where innovation is the primary goal.

Collective intelligence is a scientific term used to describe a new form of intelligence that emerges when many individuals simultaneously collaborates and competes to solve problems. Today, the PickensPlan site provides an exciting framework for anyone to reach out to experts from around the world to solve our "Energy Situation". Organizations such as MIT, Wikimedia Foundation, DaimlerChrysler, IBM, Boeing, Hilton, American Express and BG Cosulting Group are harnessing collective intelligence to stimulate groundbreaking ideas. MindPower is a terrible thing to waste just like wind or sun Energy. .ALSO CHECK OUT OUR OTHER GROUPS > WANTED PATENTS, PROTOTYPES, IDEAS AT: www./push.pickensplan.com/group/wantedpatentsprototypesnewproductsinventions OR OUR GREEN JOBS GROUP -> GREEN JOBS NOW! With enough determination this could work. We just cant get too ahead of ourselves. I agree that we should look at some of those "dumb" ideas but at the same time really focus in on feasable and affordable methods. A really cheap and interesting concept and design I've seen is this, the windbelt http://www.humdingerwind.com/windbelt.html , I'm not trying to be a commercial for this guy but after seeing it in popular mechanics I thought it was a really interesting idea. Also I think projects should be at all levels. not just energy creation but also integration, management and possibly looking at some sort of modeling for a system

For the last year, I have been attempting to develop a framework for an Energy Systems program at the technical institute I work for. I was surprised at the lack of vision from administration and found I will need to build a much stronger case.

Our mission is to prepare individuals with skills that can be applied to the actual workplace. So programs that are overly theoretical are off-limits. With that in mind, I plan to provide a base of skills that will be relevant to current electrical and power fields. The overall program is about 1000 classroom hours, and I plan to divide it as follows:

Electrical Power Distribution - focusing on electrical power infrastructure, independent of power generation.

Conventional Energy - an overview of mainstream methods of energy production.

Low-Voltage Cabling - installation of networking and control wiring.

Fluid Power Systems - wind and water power generation

Solar Power Systems - photoelectric and solar heating systems

Energy Management & Conservation - analyzing utilization and implementing systems to improve efficiency at the home and business level.

Biofuels and Biomass Energy - organic sources of energy and how they are employed.

Energy in the Economy - study of the significance of energy in the local, national, and world economy.

I would hope that upon graduation students would have the core skills needed for basic electrical and network infrastructure trades, well-grounded opinions about energy, and enough familiarity with emerging technologies to seek employment in that field.

I welcome input about important topics to include, sources of information about employment outlooks, information about similar programs in the works, etc.

Thanks

I was thinking about surge generators that use tidal energy, especially down around gulf of Mexico ,near New Orleans ,you have water flow ,that is nonstop free energy.

Please look at Turbojack .com watch the videos with Helmutt Sieke he is the inventor of a system to harness Geothermal energy safely ,quickly ,economically.

I think this is a great idea. A virtual R&D center! I see a need to collect the ideas and create individual threads for each idea. Kind of treat each as a project in and of themselves. Each project could be managed by a project manager. There are tools of the web to create a virtual project page that would allow for us to create a project plan, schedules, action items etc. Thoughts? Is anyone software savvy enough to setup a web page or pages for these projects that are generated from this group? Are there anyone with project management skills to run the projects (I am a project manager and could take on a project or two). I think there are wiki tools online and free (?) to create a site where we could build our projects.

The idea of creating new and wondrous technologies appeals to all of us. I am wondering what of the existing ideas, technologies, and engineering can be looked at again from new perspectives and improved.
Can any of the existing but set aside or abandoned ideas be revamped using todays technologies. Perhaps a "Dumb" idea from 100 years ago can be used today.
That perpetual motion machine really sounds appealing today. Probably just as impossible but worth a glance.
I am a contractor and though I have my occasional flashes of insight my tendencies lead me more to trying to fit what I find into the "round hole", that life offers.
I am also a Libertarian. Using the word "Collective" raises my hackles. Let's avoid that one and that entire concept and use collaborative.
I am wondering if an improvement in the power transmission systems might be something to pursue, a-la Nicola Tesla.

Thank you for joing us.
Exactly! This is the goal. Collective Intelligence for online collective work. I am looking at a Google Collective Apps to do this. I will get back with you very soon.
