BG Consulting Group Why "COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE" is needed?

The Wanted Scientists Group on PickensPlan was created on the premise that the most effective way to solve the energy problems is to promote broad and rapid knowledge transfer collectively between scientists. This "collective intelligence" stretches the boundaries of current visions where innovation is the primary goal.

Collective intelligence is a scientific term used to describe a new form of intelligence that emerges when many individuals simultaneously collaborates and competes to solve problems. Today, the PickensPlan site provides an exciting framework for anyone to reach out to experts from around the world to solve our "Energy Situation". Organizations such as MIT, Wikimedia Foundation, DaimlerChrysler, IBM, Boeing, Hilton, American Express and BG Cosulting Group are harnessing collective intelligence to stimulate groundbreaking ideas. MindPower is a terrible thing to waste just like wind or sun Energy. .ALSO CHECK OUT OUR OTHER GROUPS > WANTED PATENTS, PROTOTYPES, IDEAS AT: www./push.pickensplan.com/group/wantedpatentsprototypesnewproductsinventions OR OUR GREEN JOBS GROUP -> GREEN JOBS NOW! Melissa: I am a scientist and ex-nuclear engineer for GE. I have over 8 years experience in the solar-hydrogen field. I have several white papers: www.spie.org Aug 2007 Plenary Lecture "The Solar-Hydrogen Economy - An Analysis" and www.hydrogennow.org (April 2006). I have another I just wrote for www.renewableenergyworld.com which should be available soon.
For the different cars that take into consideration all energy input:
"oil-well-to-wheels (combustion engine) efficiency" 13%
"oil-well-wheels-hybrid unit" 21%
"Natural gas-well-to-hydrogen-wheels ( fuel cell car) 41%
Water-well-to-hydrogen-wheels (fuel cell car) 44%
So, which car do you want to drive ?

I would like to join forces with an electronic engineer, a mechanical engineer and possibly a physicist and a chemist to work together as a group to explore alternative energy solution.

I am a design consultant to Rockwell Collins and have a machine shop to and computer programming experience to add to the party.

I believe 99% of this research could be done between us over the internet

contact me if you are interested or think you have something you can bring to the table

Altair Nanotechnologies' batteries are more than rumors. The Navy contract is real and the collaboration with AES for power storage was just independently validated by KEMA, Inc. at the Indianapolis Power and Light plant in Indiana using a 2 MW battery. I posted the document files in the Battery Spec. . . discussion.

I hope the group will help to differentiate the facts from the fantasy.

Has anyone ever considered an underground electrolyser using lightning as the energy source to split water into oxygen and hydrogen? In areas of frequent lightning strikes, this might be a good source of cheap fuel.

The problem with wind power is storage and transportation of the power to use when and where it is needed. Why don't we use the wind power to compress air, transport and store the compressed air at a location where it can be used as needed to turn generators? No need for batteries or transmission lines that will give us other environmental issues. If we used compressed air as the transport medium. All types of motive forces could easily produce the same and one or more forces should always be available.

I've added a discussion about battery specifications for energy storage. Also, have a look at this company, Altair Nanotechnologies (ALTI) www.altairnano.com They are developing quick recharge batteries with high energy densities based on proprietary nano-particle technology. There are rumors of partnerships with large coal based power generators to make batteries large enough to take the excess generation maintained for peaking off line permanently. There are also rumor of replacing diesel backup generators on Naval Warships with this same kind of massive battery system. Anybody else know anything?
