Hey Team,

Boone met with several District Leaders from the DC, Maryland, and Virginia today after the press conference to introduce NAT GAS Act of 2009 (HR 1835). He very excited about effort and enthusiasm of the Army. It is with your support and participation that we have come so far. For years congress has had various energy plans teetering in the halls of the people’s House. Now is the time that we can finally tip the scale get energy policy the will put America first. We pushed for an energy policy that will reduce our dependence on foreign oil, reduce our carbon footprint, and create jobs new green color jobs right here in the United States.

We have come along way but we need to keep the pressure on finish the job.

Join me by emailing President Obama and your Members of Congress today to ask them to support the NAT GAS Act of 2009.

Could somebody please explain how this works? What actions are being taken to date? How can we help as a DC group?

As we approach the new year (and get ready for the new WH Administration & Congress), we are shifting gears to begin recruiting Pickens Plan District Leaders in every congressional district to help with activities in the coming months.

Please let me know if you are interested in serving as a District Leader in your area and I will get you additional information.

Thanks.

The DC City Council is considering the Pickens Pledge.

It all comes down to the energy and environment leader on the Council, Councilwoman Cheh.

We are told by the staff we are making progress but we need more emails from our DC online community.

Please send an email to Councilwoman Cheh and the other City Councilmen today!

Tuesday night after the next Presidential debate, we are going to host the largest e-Rally ever for energy independence!

On October 7 at 10 pm EDT, just before the Presidential debate ends, log on to PickensPlan.com to rally and show the politicians that we mean business!

We have their attention - but what you do right now matters more than ever. Click here to RSVP now to attend the Pickens Plan e-Rally on Tuesday night. You can also click here to leave a comment asking the two candidates to support the Pickens Plan.

During the debate the candidates will have their say. Now it's time for you to have your say. We will deliver your comments and the comments of everyone who attends the e-Rally to both Presidential candidates within 48 hours of the end of the Presidential debate.

Also, we need you to do one more thing - find one friend and ask them to attend the e-Rally with you. How big can we grow this e-Rally? How many Americans will join our New Energy Army and join this e-Rally for energy independence? Only you can answer that question!

We have tremendous momentum, over 13,000 strong joined our post debate chat for energy independence after the last Presidential debate. You won't want to miss this event! RSVP right now and forward this email on to a friend today!

Hi D.C. people,

I've created Musicians for a Better Future" as an attempt to organize musicians and performers in many cities to participate in simultaneours events to support the Pickens plan. I thought some of you you might know other artists and performers like yourself, or promoters, organizers etc. that would lend a hand.

Thanks for your time,

Rev. Jake

The DC Department of the Environment is offering a Renewable Energy Demonstration Project: http://ddoe.dc.gov/ddoe/cwp/view,a,1209,q,493006.asp . It's offering a $3,000 per kW grant (up to $9,000 for a residential home) for any type of renewable energy (which seems to be either solar or wind).

I'm very much interested but even with the grant, solar seems to be very expensive for my home (Eastern Market, on Capitol Hill).

My question to members here: Does anyone on here know of local vendors who install wind (or "micro-wind") turbines? (See here: http://cleantechnica.com/2008/03/21/the-five-best-micro-wind-turbines/ )

Also, someone should fix the misspelling in the group's name. :-)

Thanks,

Kelly

Hi,

I'm a newcomer. What is this group doing? Any meetings set up? Have the members met as a group? Any activities planned?

Pam
