glad to see there is a group in wnc. this part of the state has some of the most passionate, active folks. if there is anyone from sylva area, let me know. i work at Cherokee High School on the reservation and would really enjoy finding ideas on how to get my students fired up about alternative energy.

glad to be with this group being from forest city. mr bill mollring (who is everywhere on the pickens plan site!) contacted me and now i hope to sell the WINDSPIRE someday in this area. seeing a meter spin backwards would justify a party !!!!!!!!

I am on Large tracts of Land that with high average wind speeds would be perfect for Turbines. I have helped many clients find parcels that support "Off the Grid" potential.
I am looking for partners to open several locations to offer the technology, support and display to help the public realize alternatives are viable and available in our area. With average wind speeds here in Western NC we can make a difference with wind. Micro-hydro is also an exciting alternative in our area!

Do Something

Where is our economic and social justice when it comes to the problems we face in this country? We the people of the United States own this country. Our representatives, who are supposed to work for us, are blocking us from getting what we mandate. In corporate America they would be fired for such insubordinance.

An example is the current energy crisis. I don’t believe that many of our legislators truly understand how dramatic this situation is. Billions of dollars are leaving our country daily, while the dollar continues to weaken, and rogue nations are propped up by insane policies. The bureaucracy has cooked the books to the point of telling us that everything’s fine and we aren’t in a recession. If they want to live in fantasyland that’s ok, but don’t do it at our expense.

It’s time for bickering to cease and action to begin! Most of this country’s issues are not complex, but many of our legislators are ruining our future by putting their personal interests ahead of national interests. What they are doing is treasonous. I often wonder if an Economic Depression would be enough reign in their arrogance.

The Declaration of Independence states, “…governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it…”

We deserve representation. Much of what King George was doing 232 years ago is being done to us today by a federal government that has lost perspective. The bureaucracy has created a class amongst itself. They have forgotten that they have their jobs at the discretion of the citizens and seem to believe that we are here for their disposal.

Common sense allows for the belief that we are all unique individuals and therefore we are going to have differences of opinion on important issues. But, we cannot allow those differences to create this bitterness that will not allow us to progress as a society. We should immediately act on issues where we share similar beliefs and work diligently to see where we share common ground on the most divisive issues.

I refuse to believe that we are all so different that we cannot agree on anything of substance, but that is how we are currently being governed. America the Super Power has become its own worst enemy. Our complacency and unwillingness to move forward in this new age will destroy all we have inherited.

It is disrespectful to previous generations to squander what they worked hard, sacrificed, and fought to give us and immoral to pass on our gluttonous debts to generations that have yet to be born. Do you realize how easily our liberty can slip away?

Hopefully this movement will indeed lead us to cheaper oil and much less dependence on fossile fuels. I personally would like to have solar panels on my roof and a windmill in my back yard!

I'm here in Hickory. Each one of us can make a difference. It's time for our government to figure out who they work for. That is where the problem lies.

Greetings Friends,
We all need to thank Mr. Pickens for explaining the energy problem that we as a nation face. Earlier it was one Group (users) pointing fingers at the other Group (suppliers) and vice versa. The problem is real. It was magnified to some extent, in recent times, by speculators. But, the truth is we are importing more oil every year and producing less. We are sending billions of dollars overseas.

I like what Mr. Pickens is preaching but I do not think he has disclosed his Plan. I have read and reread everyhing that is on this web and I have failed to find the Plan.

Let us imagine that you Plan to go to visit your grandmother in a far away city and start to make a Plan. You will decide when to leave from home. How you will travel from home to grandmother's, how you will pay for the travel, what clothes you will take, and also what you will do with your grandmother. Mr. Picken's has told us that he would like to visit his granny because it is good for him to do so that but he has provided no details on how he Plans to accomplish the mission.

His Plan needs to be supplemented by other plans. Mr. Picken's Plan (presently undefined) will not get us to Energy Independence. I request you study the People's petition for Energy Independence .

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/windenergycorporation

It clearly defines where the money will come from, who will collect it, who will spend it and how, what can be expected at the conclusion of 5 and 10 years and also what will happen when we have become Energy Independent. This Plan is not dependent on the whims of the Stock Market or the condition of the Credit markets. The Plan makes investment every year till the goal is avhieved.
Please (a) sign the Petition and (b) forward it to your friends. United we can achieve Energy Independence and avoid this constant financial bleeding of our great nation.
Also, if you want to become an partner in this endeavour let me know how I can contact you. It will be a Labor of Love for a Country that we love. Just think what it would be to be Energy Independent. What it will do to our standard of living. The opportunities it will offer us, our children and grand children.
Thanks.

Regards and Best wishes,

We live in Rutherford County, N. C. and are very interested in joining the Western North Carolina for Renewables. We joined the PickensPlan today and are willing to do everything we can to get our elected officials to listen to the constituents that elected them to office. We need to start immediately for alternative fuels and renewables. We do not need to wait another 10 yrs. Had we started 10 yrs. ago, we may not be in the situation we are in today, depending on foreign oil and sending billions to countries that do not like us and are laughing at us all the way to the bank. We are suppose to be the strongest nation in the world, lets get back what we have lost.
These Enviroamental lobblist (enviroamentalist whac-ohs) need to realize we are not living in the dark ages. GET REAL! Our technological advances in securing this much needed commodity from our own resources is not going to hurt the envirorment by polluting our waters, kill our trees or kill the animals. We are the leading country in the world and our exploration and drilling has improved drastacially in the past 20 yrs. to the point that we will not hurt the enviroment or the animals. Lets stick together and let our voices be heard.
