What about Seimens or maybe GE? Denmark, Belgium, and Germany are where most come from.

Max.
It's not a U.S. company, but a progressive one: A-Power Energy Generation Systems, Ltd.

There is a group of sailors in Middletown RI, that has developed a turbine used on roof tops.
I am certain you can check with WJAR TV in Cranston, they aired the story. If memory serves correctly the unit cost was around $10,000.

Not to change the subject, but I have had conversations with a fellow out in California, who produced
a solar unit, which employees a len to super heat panels of his SolarKing. The unit supplies his home with a surplus.
His problem is the cost of panels..
He told me the unit costs around $30,000.
Apparently this device could also power communities.
The application are remarkable.
If you are interested in such a device, or helping him with mass production, I'm sure we could arrange such a meeting.

Isn't the company we should be keeping an eye on Mesa Power?

William, where is A-Power located and is it private or public? Europe has great gains in the area of wind power, it is not surprising that companies are located abroad, but still we can invest if they are public right? Thanks, Terrill

A good source to find out about investment in renewable energy companies: Profit from the Peak: The End of Oil and the Greatest Investment Event of the Century (Angel Series) (Hardcover)
by Brian Hicks (Author), Chris Nelder (Author).

I found some companies that are publicly traded that make the parts for turbines. This is from: http://www.window.state.tx.us/specialrpt/energy/pdf/11-WindEnergy.pdf
The list is on page 4 of the PDF.

Teco-Westinghouse: TE
Trinity Industries: TRN
Zoltek: ZOLT

You should be able to find their competitors and do more research from here.

Also, AWEA.org has a member directory (under member center) where you can search for parts manufacturers.

Hope that helps!
