The U.S. produces more ethanol than any other country in the world, and will soon have the capacity to produce 10 billion gallons per year. Many people believe that ethanol needs to be made from non-food crops (cellulose), and imply new cellulosic ethanol plants will be built. How about upgrading existing ethanol plants to improve energy efficiency? There are numerous upgrades that can be made.…
