Actually I think they look pretty cool.

Agree with jim mize. And i think it's pretty cool how folks are beginning to understand that this and the other farms could be a darn sight better looking than what their visions of the future would be with $200+ / barrel.

What effect, if any, does a wind farm have on the global jet streams? Will we be solving one crisis while creating another?

Watching the Jetson's as a kid I actually thought we would have had something spectacular like this in our landscape already. They do look pretty cool but their effectiveness and capability actually makes them "beautiful"

I have seen one up close, they are really quite unique and cool.

I have seen them go up. Really impressive. We have lots of them over here close to Lubbock, Texas. Schools and business' put them in. These large scale are too expensive for an individural, but if you wanted one for your house, you are looking at $10,000-20,000.00 and you can sell back the energy that you are not using to the electric company. One of these huge ones you see that are about 130 feet tall, can produce enough for over 3,000 homes.

My husband's company sandblasts and paints them (Corrosion Management) and I've seen the parts (pre assembled) going down the freeway! I remember decades ago - 1980's seeing them in California. The Windmill has come a long way baby! Harnessing Nature's Energy to create the energy we need is great!

There is not enough wind in many places to make them worth the money.

The US is very lucky to have people like T. Boone Pickens. i'll leave it at that just for now...
