Celebrating my one year anniversary with Pickens Plan. I want to do more to help make this happen. This is so important, to my children and grandchildren and generations yet to come.

You asked about military and natural gas. In 96-2000 I was in the AF. A small amount of home vehicles used natural gas and could be filled on the base with CNG. That amount is probably much more now a days. They were promoting it then because it cost so little.

I only know that liquid propane has to have a converter to turn it to vapor to run in a vehicle. You can go further in a Pick up Truck due to more fuel can be put in the tank when it is liquid.
So, for CNG, go to CNGnow.com, for CNG, I do not know about it.

Hi 2trails,
Thanks for friending me. I'm 75 and I saw your comment about your Dad's solar work. I go back about forty years in the business myself, and its too bad that no one would listen to us back then. Now we are in a fix. I have video and a blog on solar energy and micro homes on my Pickens page. I add to it often. I just put up a short clip this morning on the off the power grid micro home.
Please tell your friends.
Thanks,
Walt

Thanks for the comments...very thoughtful.

One of my bloggers said - honestly just that on a T-Shirt " PICKENS FOR PRESIDENT".... would be a great statement.

Do you belong to Eons.com? I am womenbiz on it. Many people do the graphics on it, several just graphic groups.
As soon as we get back from CO I am going to order Bruce a t-shirt with the yardsign on it. I already have a PickensSenior one.

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
My father made solar cells in the late 60's for his work with Gould. He would attach the small cells to a portable radio, remove the batteries and then hang it from the clothesline outside - and it would work! That was impressive a lifetime ago, but the broader goals of harnessing nature for the good of the planet and everyone may now be reachable.
What excites you about this campaign?
I always knew the importance of producing an affordable energy source and I am pleased for the opportunity to help make it happen in my lifetime. Being a part of this journey to make alternative energy available for everyone is to engage in a bright new challenge.
What do you want to do to help?
I can easily do computer work, love photography and graphic design, and am open to suggestions. What do you need?

Thoughts about cng vehicles

I purchased a new Oldsmobile Cutlass diesel in 1979. The car was a polluter, but got 33 mpg. - and diesel was cheaper than gas - around 30 cents a gallon! It was difficult to find diesel fuel stations at that time...not an experience I would want to relive. In 1984 I had a Dodge Van that had a conversion kit for propane - also got great mileage - but again, fueling was an issue.

Here it is 2008, and the best a new car buyer can expect is no better mileage than I got nearly forty years ago, and… Continue
