- As a member of the emerging Biofuel Industry, my knowledge about certain alternative energies is extensive. I am a CEO of a small 'clean-tech' start-up based in Long Beach (Signal Hill), we specialize in Algae-to-Oil potential.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- I am extremely proud that there is a bipartisan push for RENEWABLES in the Pickens plan (WIND). It is a personal belief of mine that the "conversation" surrounding energy has become hijacked by competing views about national energy policy. The Pickens Plan (although not cohesive enough to be considered a national policy) is a strong start! America needs to wake up to the fact that 'we are not going to drill our way out of this' (Pickens). I never thought I would ever hear a Republican say something about energy with this much common sense. I want this plan to evolve into a national framework that everyone can be proud of...not just the 'Great Plains'.
- What do you want to do to help?
- I am a firm believer that more energy options mean more freedom. In the push for natural gas within the PLAN, Pickens may incorrectly alienate himself as his own 'special interest' open to attacks about ALL special interests. This could WRONGLY be conceived by alternative energy skeptics as a plan being peddled by a 'Natural Gas' baron whose main "solution" is to switch us to...um, Natural Gas. This isn't a bad or immoral idea but it seems a little one sided. Why hasn't the Pickens Plan adopted a more global views in regards to the array of energies available to Americans; geothermal, ALGAE and tidal potentials. If the Pickens Plan looks like a super-market of energy it will feel less like a Texas "Oil" man selling us "his" tea.
