Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I was born in Hawaii, in a house that had no connection to the grid for public energy or water delivery. I was raised in a home using solar power for water heating and electricity, and propane gas as a supplement. Our home was also near the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii which I visited often to review the progress they have made in developing alternative energy. I now live in another house compbyletely off the grid. Nearly all power is provided by photovoltaic solar collectors and we are pursuing a wind turbuine. I am also considering building a new house, with greater solar capacity, while the tax credits are still in place (in 2008).
What excites you about this campaign?
My father, William R. Glover, used to work in the financial sector for the oil industry, and he has told me before of Mr. Pickens as a major oil man. I find it incredible that Mr. Pickens is willing to make this massive investment; he has provided a very large amont of capital and his plan will be profitable in the long run. This shows incredible foresight and concern for our nation. I currently live in Hawaii, one of the best areas in the nation for the development and implementation of alternative energy, and I am willing to go anywhere to ensure the success of Mr. Pickens.
What do you want to do to help?
Work full time for Mr. Pickens. I am an accountant familiar with contract managment, job costing, estimating, taxes and bookeeping

Aloha Abraham,

Friday, February 20, 2009 there will be a MALAMA OBAMA RALLY in the main Pavilion at Old Airport. The date was chosen because it is one year and one day from the 2008 Hawaiian Caucus when Obama’s strong support surprised, and almost overwhelmed party workers.
The speaker will be Hawaii Congressman Neil Abercrombie. Local legend has it that he was the first Congressman to come out and support Obama.
There will be tables for topics Obama advocated during the campaign. I have secured one for Pickens under the topic of “Renewable Energy”. Participants will circulate among these, dialoging with knowledge members of the community. The table groups will formulate issue statements about things that need changing and how Obama should change them.
These will be communicated to Abercrombie who will take them back to Washington.
I plan to have a Pickens power point presentation running on my lap top, Pledge /sign up sheets, business cards etc.

Please make every effort to be there!

WE NEED A MAXIMUM EFFORT ON THIS ONE!

If you can afford it, buy a Pickens hat or tee shirt.

RSVP as my Pickens friend.

Aloha Abraham,
Your strong commitment to the Pickins plan is a welcome message to me and the other members in the Pickens Volunteer Army. Mahalo to you.
A recent report from the HI State House states that a bill to raise the tax credit on photovoltic energy systems installed on single-family residential properties to $40,000 is being considered.
Monday I plan to send a message to all the Pickens volunteers in Hawaii urging them to call (using the State toll free line) the members of the House and Senate Energy Committee members tell them support this tax credit effort.
However, we in Hawaii musr remember that job #1 is to keep the the mainland economy from faltering, and the Pickens plan is the best way to do that.
After all if the huge flow of cash going to OPEC drags the US economy down into a very deep depression, Hawaiis' economy goes into cardiac arrest!

No doubt.

Did you read the story about the new solar collectors going in at the Natural Energy Lab?

Hi. I live in a fully solar powered house in Hamakua, north of Hilo. I think we have a lot more people who use solar than in the rest of teh country. Join the SOlar Energy Forum.
