Aimee, Thanks for the comment on my website. Another little thing you can do is to use canvas bags at the grocery store. I bought mine for $1 each at Wal-Mart. Each bag holds an amount more than two plastic bags. And they don't rip! Pamela (P.J. )Whiteley

Aimee,
TRANSPORTATION is the master key to basic survival, and the cornerstone of the economy. We all know that transportation presently depends on oil production, and oil production is peaking. We must focus first on transportation – it is the highest priority. The PickensPlan to transition vehicles to natural gas is a great start toward 100% energy independence, but is a stop-gap measure till we can transition to all electric transportation. Electric energy is strained without adding transportation demands; so we must drastically improve efficiency .
Evacuated Tube Transport (ETT) is a patented technology where travel occurs without air friction or rolling resistance (like “Space Travel on Earth”); ETT can accomplish 50 times more transportation per kWh (or carbon credit) than electric cars or trains. ETT is silent, low cost, safe, faster than jets, and is electric so it can make maximum use of wind or PV power. I invite you to visit my page to learn more about ETT

Aimee,

I too live in NWA and am interested in educating the people! What do you think about getting something organized to help accomplish this?

Join us at Carbon Neutral as we move forward with our plans to Flip a City.

Vacant Buildings - Holyoke

Download the pdf (4 MB) and get a sense of where we have to start.

Then watch us grow and implement a plan to install grid tied solar pv systems on all rooftops, and most importantly, bring an entire City back to life as Carbon Free as possible.

Hey Aimee,
You said that you aren't sure how to help, well you already are helping by joining with others who joined Boone Pickens and started this. I am really into this alt. energy stuf.

Hey Aimee.
You said in your profile you arent sure how to help. I dont think you have to be a billionaire building wind farms to make a difference. I wrote a blog entry on some ideas.... small things that we can all do to reduce our energy use (and therefore oil consumption)... Let me know what you think.

Aimee,

A question, is there a reason to make membership in the Arkansans for Alternative Energy group an invitation only thing?

I have already made contact with several people in AR who have joined by the old fashioned way--hand sort the members listed on the main list. That is hard work and I don't really have the time to do it this way. I have sent a request to the 'main office' for a sort option by state which would help. If you want to make joining the group a simple mouseclick I'll be glad to spread the word to those who have already responded.

Let me know what you think. I would love to move quickly while people are still enthusiastic.

Lu
