None --- but I would like to learn more...and with my friends' great comments on my blog about harnessing the power of lightning...I AM learning more! I cannot have enough friends! I have personal friends in all four time zones in the continental United States. I need some friends in the other time zones of Alaska & Hawai'i...

What excites you about this campaign?

It's about time that someone decided to "take the bull by the horns", and show some leadership. The so-called president of the United States is TOO dumb to show leadership in this area. Not to be haughty or pretentious, but I possess intelligence in the 98th percentile in the World --- I was a Mensa member when I was 17 years old. I want to use my intelligence to help America and eventually the World out of its problem with energy dependence concerning oil...God gave me this intelligence to help others --- I cannot squander that away...

What do you want to do to help?

Use my intelligence, coupled with Mr Picken's ability to finance ways to relieve America of its dependence on foreign oil. I have a B.S. degree in computer science from the University of Central Florida - Orlando, and a B.S. degree in meteorology from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. I almost have a mathematics degree (B.S.) from FSU. My math IQ is 156 (genius level). I agree that the United States is the Saudi Arabia of wind power, because I lived in Wichita, KS from November 8, 1988 until March 19, 2007. I worked at the Boeing company there. Wichita is known as the Air Capital of the World ---- but it's the Air Capital regarding airplane manufacturing. There's a lot of wind there, too --- prompting the air capital moniker in another meaning!!

Anyone have any ideas for harnessing the power of lightning?

Hello. My name is Ron, and I have a B.S. degree in meteorology. I am thinking about harnessing the power of lightning to send it into a series of batteries to save it as power for homes and businesses. Also, I hope there is a way to convert it over a large scale (of course) from DC power for AC power to use in homes and businesses. There is a huge water table beneath the surface that will eventuallly be drained off and used to cool turbines in a new hydroelectric dam they are proposing in the area. My area of concentration is the use of bio-diesel and ethanol for transportation. The concept that the use of these fuels would cause people worldwide to starve is false.
There are many options for production of plants for these alternatives and many non food source plants that can and do grow where food crops cannot. But should a farmer accidently be able to profit from the process...then good for the farmer.

Geothermal is another gem worth looking at. There is a process to using old depleted oil wells to tap geothermal energy that would be very beneficial to the production of electricity.

Don't know alot about the use of lightning but will take the time to find out more.

Glad to have minds likes yours addressing a problem we all share. In this quest for alternative forms of energy there will be no single path.
