- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- Limited, I drive a hybrid - gas/electric vehicle. I limit my driving even with a hybrid. I currently am an apartment resident in a city, no major alternative energy choices available here at this moment. I do use energy conserving fluorescent bulbs and electric heat. My personal usage of oil is down.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- The opportunity to STOP sending billions to the OPEC nations. Though, realistically this must be done cautiously - the OPEC nations hold the lion's share of the U.S Debt.. The U.S. obviously can not have that debt called in.
Going elsewhere for oil is not an option, it is being "forbidden" - there is oil in Alaska - we are "forbidden" to access it. Alternative fuels and wind and other NATURE power is the only option.
It excites me that the U.S. can reclaim sourcing it's own energy and reclaim the billions being shoveled overseas when they are so badly needed in this economy.
The obstacles are the Powers That Be that knowingly led an "overly eager" U.S. into the situation that it is in now. They are not going to let a switch from dependence on Arab oil to U.S. produced windpower without making it uncomfortable for the U.S and those trying to implement the change.

- Not sure. Let me learn more about the operation and the Plan and see where I feel I can contribute my energy (human) and time.

When will we ever have a chance like this again to become energy independant before we give this country away?
Our new Congress is sworn in less than 10 days from now - they must be told loudly and clearly that we demand action to reduce our dependance on foreign oil!
WE CAN DO THIS. We need your help. THERE IS NO INFLUENCE WITHOUT NUMBERS!

Thank you for joining PP! Time is of the essence. In less than 2 weeks, our new Congress will be sworn in. Only the threat of political suicide will keep them focused on the job of getting us independent from foreign oil! The only way to accomplish this is with sheer numbers - THERE IS NO INFLUENCE WITHOUT NUMBERS.

After you've had a chance to settle in, please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. The basic first steps are reviewing the current topics in the Forum, and inviting others to the website when you're comfortable. The people here want to do something to foster energy independence and those you invite will find that joining us is the right thing to do.
Here are further steps you might consider, some of which you may have already taken.
- Sign up to lead or volunteer on the Local District page.
- Visit your My Energy page and get involved.
- Get involved with others in your City or State.
- Find and connect with a like-minded Group.
- Start or join a Campus/Alumni group at PickensU.
- Work your contacts to increase press coverage.
- Write to congressional representatives directly.
- Use Pickens Action buttons or call (202) 225-3121.
- Speak out for ending our dependence on foreign oil.
- Write letters to the editor of your local paper.
- Download flyers/etc from here or here.
- Download the Petition and ask others to sign it.
- Start a company to build wind turbines/solar panels.
- Start a financing firm to invest in those companies.
- Tell everyone you know about PickensPlan.com.
Decide for yourself what you can do, but definitely do something.

We are a voluntary community of individuals who are placing our combined support behind T. Boone Pickens and his efforts to send our government a clear (heard) message that we must reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil through the use of all domestic energy alternatives. This site is a place to interact with fellow Pickens Plan supporters, keep up with events and opportunities to help get more involvement.
For those of you that have already jumped in and have made contact with your local leader- thanks.
Please, I ask the first sites you visit to get accurate info and articles to see pretty much what the plan is about and where the plan stands, and please come back to these sites often as changes take place regularily. Some are long, please; take the time to get all the details.

[Click here], to enter your zip code and be paired up with members in your area. If you want to be a leader for your area, you can also sign up on that page. If you would rather wait on a leader role, that’s ok we need helpers. An organization cannot be all chiefs.
There is a group for almost everything. The Forums/discussions on this site are many and you’ll probably find something that interests or concerns you. Some are very long and were started months ago. For the ones that concern you, please keep in mind, events are remembered and relayed differently by those commenting, which as we all too well know equals at least three sides to the event.
After you have read the sites I mentioned, if you need anything else to help you, while you help the push, please stop by. I am proud to put my efforts towards this cause.
