Harvest Time

Every seed takes time to germinate.
So too in the fields of the soul.
We must never give up and sow
because the results do not
immediate to our eyes.
Let us wait with patience.
In the right moment, the seeds
have driven in the soil of hearts,
there will produce mature fruit.
Understanding and sow Joy, Peace and
Courage, Forgiveness and Love.
Jesus bless you have a good night.

Hi, Anachronism.
Thank you for remainding me. I wanted to ask you again one thing I still do not understand:
I wrote: I understand your cooling idea. But I do not understand the heating in winter. You said it was snowing outside with snow on your roof, but the vent for sucking air was running by 64° (and turned of by 68°). Is there enough heat in winter under the roof, even under the conditions, you described, to be able to get 64° from you attic? Thank you in advance for answering my question. Greetings from Austria. Reinhard

Hi, this is Reinhard Resch from Austria
It was great reading about your simple heating and cooling system. I like the Kiss-Idea.
We also invented a very simple tool for collecting and distributing water streams (look under my name Dr. Reinhard Resch).
I understand your cooling idea. But I do not understand the heating in winter. You said it was snowing outside with snow on your roof, but the vent for sucking air went on by 68°. Does it work with a heat pump? I appreciate your answer very much. Thank you. Reinhard

My house is over a hundred years old...pyramid style roof...I had a wind turbine installed right at the peak last year..no ridge vents (or any other vents if you don't count the cracks and gaps here and there).
I opened an 8 in gap in the attic access panel and that was enough to really activate the turbine as it exhausts the neat from the house by pulling from the open windows aided by window fans. The turbine goes all the time now and I got a noticable temp drop...even on the 80% humidity, 100 degree days. Floor plan is 4 square with 11ft ceilings so I plan to do transomes to help the air move inside the house. Come winter I hope to have the other idea you presented in place to return the heat to the house. I know..close off the turbine for the winter. I have a couple of other thoughts about how to rework the interior of the house for really free air flow. We'll see what I really get done!

Thanks for jogging my thinking.

I think geo therm is probably the best way to go here, but at 3 times the install cost it is a hard sell.

I am looking into solar panels as prices and tech come down in cost.

Oh if you put a comment in the wrong place or want to change the message you can clear it off by clicking on the little symbol in the top right corner of the comment .

Hey young man;

Thanks 4 the info. My climate in Va is hummid and hot. I think we have only seen 23 degree's 20 or so times in my 15 yrs here.
In the middle of the night for most of the summer my outside humid air temp is 60-68. While i could see that is better than 80. We open our windows and capture the cool air but must run a dehumidifier and the house is back up to 78- 80 by 10:30.
I meant to ask about county codes and venting.

Best; Tom

Oh and I have set my comment wall to allow me 2 read comments before making them visible on the wall.

Tom Baily: Thank you for asking, if you have questions about process to create my passive solar in your home or business, SIMPLY ask! I have the ability to draft drawings for your application, location of air intake into your attic and how simple it actually is in the creation of a passive system. To create a "Passive Cooling system" is simply the building of an attic exhaust method to allow the heated air to "LEAVE" in the evening and by the leaving of the hot air, you have now automatically a created a "cooling" cycle. The process explained above is the action of the "HOT" air leaving AT NIGHT or when the air around your attic space is cooled to a specific temperature. The concept of "Cool" is when the evening air-cools down; you simply open the upper most point of your gable roof surface through a Two-foot diameter vent which by natural air action allows the hot air in the attic to exhaust out of the attic space “WHICH CREATES SUCTION” and the outside air at your lowest point/attic surface “SUCKS IN COOL AIR” TO REPLACE THE HOT AIR LEAVING THROUGH THE VENT IN THE PEAK OF THE ROOF! When the temperature sensor that you have placed in your attic indicates the “COOL” is of suitable temperature, you simply remotely close the vent at the top of your roof and turn on your suction system and "SUCK" this cooler air into your living space. BY THE EXPLAINED ACTIONS YOU NOW HAVE CONSTANT COOL AIR ENTERING YOUR SOLAR SYSTEM AND SIMPLY DECIDE HOW COOL YOU WANT YOUR RESIDENCE. In my project in Vancouver I built a simple control box with required sensors and simple 12-volt (DC) motors to operate the vents and automatically creates each operation and the thermostat in your home then determines their actions. Tom, it works if you want it too. THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!! Look at the pictures on my site and I can send you other photos or drawings to further clarify concepts. I designed, drafted and completely constructed and owned all the projects shown. You can create your own system and simply watch nature closer then you have in the past. NEVER be afraid and be aware that whatever you need to KNOW is simply in front of your eyes and trust the ideas that come to you. I started my first business at 1953 at 13 years old, selling slacked lime and sand to a brick mason whom then added cement into my mix to build brick exterior walls for homes. DO SOMETHING AND SHOW OTHERS HOW TO DO THE SAME!!!

Hey young man;

Are the attic vents reopened during the hotter months to alow hot air release?

Most new homes are built with ridge vent systems. Sealing (closing off) these?

I have to admit that most of my work involves actually putting the land to work to feed the folks in a regenerative manner. I would be interested in what you did for building lots as it might have application to my chosen field of study and actual practice.

You can use my normal e-mail if you want as sometimes it is easier for me, the semi-literate internet user, to do what I want to do..
luanetodd@yahoo.com

I am always interested in alternative approaches to doing things.

I am loving your explanations about the passive solar heating. Where do I find the description about how to do the cooling part of the equation.
