Brian I completely agree. I would really love to see more activity happening and less talking. Especially in Lee County. most people think they are doing a great job because they put some items out at the curb for recycling, but there is just so muc…

I just joine the district group and read through the few posts here. I have to agree with you on the focus issue. It is time to stop putting our energy into what is wrong, because all that really is is a b---- session, and make the shift to what we…

Angela,

Welcome and THANK YOU for joining the Pickens Plan. Just wanted to let you know that a real person out here appreciates you taking that first step.

After you've had a chance to settle in, please let me know if there's anything I can do to guide your path. The basic first steps are reviewing the current topics in the Forum, and when you are comfortable, letting others know about the website. The people here are interested in making the plan a success and those you invite should be able to see for themselves that this is the right place to be.

Some steps you might consider:

Many are:
- working their contacts to increase press and blog coverage.
- Using the Red button on the main page or calling (202)225-3121.
- writing to their congressional representaves and senators directly.
- Asking Congress if they support renewable energy in 10 years.
- Speaking out on behalf of ending dependance on foreign oil.
- writing letters to the editor of their local paper(s).
- downloading flyers and plastering their cars and businesses.
- downloading the Pledge (top) and asking others to sign up.
- starting companies to build wind turbines and solar panels.
- starting investment firms to invest in these companies.
- telling everyone they know about PickensPlan.com.

Decide for yourself what you can do, but definitely do something.

Welcome once again and thanks for signing up.

Might I suggest you trick out this page as your website devoted to eco-awareness. You would already have instant access to a large audience. JAT-IMHO

Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I have had very little experience using it personally because it is typically unobtainable, either because it is unavailable or too expensive, but I have specified it on many house designs. I have always been interested and find it absolutely ludicrous that we have had the technology and resources for years and yet we are still so resistant even though we know we are killing our planet and ourselves.
What excites you about this campaign?
The potential to solve many problems all at once and finally start moving in the right and obvious direction.
What do you want to do to help?
I'm not sure how I can help, but would love to explore the possibilities. I am currently in the process of starting a website devoted to eco-awareness, education and resources. I would love to post info on it if it would help. I am also a sustainable home designer and wish I had more clients who wanted to implement these types of technologies intotheir homes.
