Although the wind and solar get all the press these sources are only a small part of the overall plan. Using natural gas is an essential component of American energy independence.

I have been able to gather hundreds with a simple sentence -
"I am collecting signatures of support for T. Boone PIckens plan to get us off of foreign oil and onto American solutions" then put the petition in front of them. EVERYONE wants to get off foreign oil, we just need to add them to our list!

EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES BY USING OUR EASY RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON -This is urgent, because the Energy Bill in Congress is in danger of not passing! With little effort, we have the ability here for you to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too. Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!

YOU CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back to Boone ASAP. This is how we build our numbers fast! PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONSWe need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

A GROUP FOR EVERYONE. Join the Guides and Materials for New Members Group. Lot's of good information there.
Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?: Yes

Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:: I don't believe I have experience with alternative energy. My experience comes with purchasing energy efficient items for my home and considering energy alternatives for our home and community. Back where I grew up they have constructed a small area of wind turbines. I found this interesting as I come from Northeastern PA, a coal mining area. I would love to see more of this kind of forward thinking back home and in Ohio where I live now.

What excites you about this campaign?: As I read more about "clean tech" and all that is out there in terms of new technology, I am fascinated and excited about the prospects. I remember as a young adult hearing of solar power and thought, what a great way to use the resouces we have and I would love to use it too. At that time it was extremely expensive and not very common place for residential use. It was more of an "out there" idea. I am excited about the possibilities. It couldn't come too soon for me as I look ahead to the future I will leave my children.

What do you want to do to help?: I would like to find out more about the alternatives, the plan and what kind of things we can do as individual citizens and as a group that can help make this plan a reality.
