I'm just joining this group. I live in the Sunset area and have been in La for close to 15 yrs. now. I would love to see this area begin research on solar farms. The type I think that would work very well here uses solar panels to produce steam in a…

Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I've only been in La for 12 years, half of that time off shore. I spent 20 yrs in Oregon and we were far ahead of the south even then. We heated our swimming pool by solar, our house, and hot water w/ wood.
What excites you about this campaign?
I strongly feel that here in La we can do great things w/ solar energy and possibly wind using old off shore oil platforms. Mr. Sheffler tried to do a wind project offshore La. but the state had too many obstacles. So he went to Texas, we need to change the way we do things to allow for innovation.
What do you want to do to help?
I'm partially disabled right now but I can surely raise hell w/ our politician.

good question. One thing I can tell you is that we have solar attic fans completely built in the USA with (get this) all our own parts, by Americans.
They run about $500 each and they will help you. Here's the best part- can't think of the company name. Sure it's on the internet, from Indiana ????

We all need to do our part by beginning at home with our energy usage. We also need to keep hammering our elected officials to allow companies and the private sector to run with new tech and needed infrastructure changes; allowing grants & incentives to help us achieve the energy independence goal!!!
There is a group for almost everything. Type any word of a topic that you would like to see. Do not be afraid to go clickin crazy!!!

The Forums/discussions on this site are many and you’ll probably find something that interests or concerns you. Some are very long and were started months ago. Haven't been able to get a response from the pickens team on an idea. Maybe you have some pull some where. Assuming the new wind farm is on hold, why not setup a fund to add a windmill to an existing wind farm ? I would contribute to it. My original reason for joining was to increase the use of wind energy !
