Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
Built rocket motor cases - used that technology (lightweight pressure vessels) to transfer NASA technology to Fireman's breathing containers and then to CNG. Sold rights to CNG tank to ALCOA, then worked in Argentina in their large-scale NGV/CNG program.
What excites you about this campaign?
The use of CNG for transportaion fuel - this is the first practical energy plan I hae seen that solves the US energy probelm.
What do you want to do to help?
Anything I can - I am retired, and slighlty hndicapped with arthritis, but I am active and have expericnce wirting (OP-EDs for San Diego Union Tribune, so I need to know what is needed

I fully understand the advantages of natural gas vehicle fuel, and I worked to get it going in Argentina, which now has more than 15% of their cars using CNG. Argenitna and Brazil are converting cars from gasoline to CNG at the rate of about 25,000 cars per month (each).

I don't understand how wind eneergy is anywhere near compettitive with conventional power generation. As best I can tell it is more than 4 times as expensive, maybe more, as the machines are highly unreliable. Can anyone explain the economics?

I fully support the Pickens Plan, and I am a signed-up organizer.

One of the main reasons it is so expensive here in the US is that we are required to use OEM parts in order to get any tax rebates. Here in OK, it costs about $11K to do it. When the average worker here makes less than $40K/year, it is too expensive for most people to do it. I travel to Texas to visit family and I can't have a CNG vehicle to go there because there is no place to re-fuel between Dallas and Austin (200 miles). It does not make sense to me that the #1 producer of natural gas, has very few public places to re-fuel a natural gas vehicle.

Yes Audie the EPA and Especially CARB in California are the real big financial road blocks. Check out CNGCHAT.com and Naturaldrive.com Natural drive is going through the process right now. For one engine model it is costing almost 500,000 to get EPA and Carb certified.
