- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- I have no experience to speak of. Worked at United Nuclear in Richland, Washington, at the Hanford Reservation as a temp and know beyond a shadow of a doubt, that nuclear energy is safe and we need to use it. I have seen the wind machine towers in Central Washington and question their usefulness, information due to input from the Hanford Reservation. I believe we need to harness the oil, natural gas, wind, water, and nuclear power available to us.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- Mr. Pickens excites me with his vision and his lack of personal gain but rather his dedication to our country. I am sickened by the presidential campaign and the media and am feeling very embarrassed for our country and the lack of common sense and education presently on display. Mr. Pickens statement that this wind corridor can be built with private funding was an exciting statement in this day of the government doing to us and for us. I am sorry that the public does not understand that the government=us and we do have power. Mr. Pickens is reaffirming that for us.
- What do you want to do to help?
- Our entire famlly is doing a lot of campaigning for the Pickens Plan via e-mails and lots of information sharing. How can we get Mr. Pickens in front of Congress?

My family is rallying for Bone, too. A great family activity, no?!
I have found that petitions are the best way to spread the word AND sign up supporters.
Here is HOW TO TURN THE PLEDGE INTO A PETITION!
I find it easiest to take one pledge, cut off Boone's lines under the pledge and add a sheet of lined paper under the pledge instead. I put NAME - ADDRESS - EMAIL across the top and fill in the first line to set the format. Most are more willing to sign where others have already done so, rather than the single pledge at a time approach. Everyone understands a petition.
I ask if they would "sign this petition in support of T, Boone Pickens energy plan to get us off of foreign oil?" Hand them the clipboard so they can read it. I do not require the signers to give me their email if they are reticent - don't let that be a deal breaker - some just do not want to give it.
Check out the 100CLUB group page to see how others have accomplished the task. (it is the first goup on my page) When you send/fax in 100, let me know, we will gladlyinvite you to be a member of the 100CLUB. Your leadership on this will inspire thousands!
There are over 150 people in the pledge challenge that I know of right now. Surely, there are many more that I am unaware of, as it is in many greetings. Those 150 willl bring 15,000 new members. If each brings just 5 friends, these 150 will be responsible for 75,000 new members.
This is the approach that works best for me - I tried many. Hopefully, this will encourage you to take the challenge, too. CAN YOU HELP?

EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES BY USING OUR EASY RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON - - With little effort, we have the ability here for you to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too.
Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!
YOU CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the Main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back to Boone ASAP. This is how we build our numbers fast! Be a leader, be a part of the "100 CLUB", by faxing in 100 signed pledges. Let me know when you are done and I will see that you are added to the list.

Contact and "Friend" the New Energy Army Regional Leader for your state. You can find them to the right, in the Featured Memberssection. Let him/her know that I sent you there and you are interested in becoming an organizer.
THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.
PICKENS U has been formed for college alumni and university students to get involved. If you are or know of a student who would like to become an ambassador to help coordinate the pledge drive, please submit names to Pickens U site (found on the Main page). This would look good on a job resume.
PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not
1) increase our membership nor
2) influence public policy.
If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.
