- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- I am a recent graduate, and current researcher, of the Western Washington University - Vehicle Research Institute. Our history into alternative vehicles is well known, and has had some impact on current technology. Currently we are developing the use of bio-methane, sourced from dairy cows, as an automotive fuel. We feel this could be a major help to the Pickens plan, as it will help to relieve the stress on the natural gas infrastructure.
I personally, as well as my peers and professors, would love the opportunity to discuss our advances with you. And maybe we could partner with you to help develop this technology.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- As I said before we at the VRI are very large proponents of CNG as an automotive fuel. Solar is perhaps not the most viable in western Washington, but we feel CNG is a great option to meet our energy needs. And I am thrilled to see an influential voice calling for CNG as an alternative.
- What do you want to do to help?
- I am focusing my efforts mainly on sourcing an actually renewable and sustainable source for CNG. I know that this will not meet 100% of the need, but it can certainly make an impact. And the idea of a car with an effectively carbon negative footprint is certainly attractive.

I started a new group here on the PP. The name of the group is TELL IT LIKE IT IS.
Everyday we are fed lots of very big numbers by the many talking heads on the new media. We are told about billions and trillions of dollars and about layoffs numbering in the thousands first by one company then three times that many from another. But what is the significance of all of these numbers? What if we were to put a face, a name, a family, a town, a city and so on and so forth to the number? Would that help us to understand any better? Maybe yes maybe no but at least we could begin to get a better perspective of what is really going on out where the shoes meet the ground. The members of Tell It Like It iS are one by one stepping up to tell the rest of us what it is happening where they live. How is this current mess we are all in impacting them.
We would appreciate it if you too would come and post your report. What is it like where you live? How are you personally, your family, your friends being affected by these tumultuous times?
This is not about gloom and doom. This is about getting an honest unembellished broad perspective of the situation from those who are out in the midst of life trying to hold their own and survive the storm.

I am one of the welcome wagon crew. We are all volunteers. Out of sheer numbers I greet daily I have a paste and copy note.
It is not intended to overwhelm you, just give you a direction and some contacts. I do read every profile page.

There is a group for almost everything. The Forums/discussions on this site are many and you’ll probably find something that interests or concerns you. Some are very long and were started months ago. For the ones that concern you, please keep in mind, events are remembered and relayed differently by those commenting, which as we all too well know equals at least three sides to the event.
