like Mr Pickens, I believe we MUST break our oil addiction, and renewables are the answer. But unlike our founder, I believe individual responsablity and response is the ultimate answer, not just to re-power the grid, but reduce the load we each p...

Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I'm an over-the-road trucker, owned my own for a while, until the fuel prices drove me back to driving for others again. I used and talked up biodiesel as often as possible and have been researching wind and solar power for about 1.5 years, and like you, have determined wind is the answer with the current technology, in that solar is still too expensive to assemble and takes way too much room, even with the projects on the sun outside barstow and the efforts to focus on a single collection point.(I have seen the "field of mirrors", and even saw it focused up in the air! quite immpressive).
What excites you about this campaign?
I belive you have found the answers our country needs right now and am glad to know someone with the resources has decided to be the next GREAT American, and push the ideas into the mainstream with courage and confidence.
What do you want to do to help?
I have plans to install a small turbine to ease the burden on the grid from my home and reduce my bills.
I have decided to do this because it is within my power to make that much difference, and welcome the chance to spread the same Ideas I had already on a much larger scale.

Hi Bill you may be intrested in hybyrd trucks being offered by navistar they have just been released! they are intended to reduce the maintance cost and get better mileage and help in the battle against rising cost of fuel and repairs. are you a owner/operator
There is a lot to look at and we have checked out many different ways of saving and generating our own power. I know it would be difficult to be completely self sufficient but the closer we can get to that the better. I just hate getting those outrageously high utility bills and the feeling that I'm stuck with no other alternative, so this is very interesting, and I will be careful as I am looking.
