Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I am the organizer for the San Diego Alternative Energy interest group which has over 200 members.

http://alternativeenergy.meetup.com/157/

I studied Earth Science at UC San Diego and have been in the technology industry my entire career where I have been involved in creation and launch of many advanced new products and services. I am also personally in line to purchase an Aptera electric hybrid vehicle made here in California.
What excites you about this campaign?
Because there is a SUCCESSFUL OILMAN behind it! This adds a lot of credibility on the need and urgency to reduce our dependence on oil, foreign oil in particular.
What do you want to do to help?
1) Grow my San Diego interest group and help facilitate education, career, business, and investment opportunities for the membership. 2) Leverage San Diego's R&D community to grow our local industry expertise in this area. 3) Help push for creation of a NATIONAL program to seriously tackle the problem, we;ve had too much talk and not enough leadership and investment. We need to GO BIG! NOW!

Hello Bill,

How bout that Aptera, eh? Have you taken delivery of it yet? I have a battery type for it --if you want to double or triple its lifecycle and range, reduce the cost, and shorten the charge time.

Check the Tri-Polar, Foam-Cored, Lead Cobalt battery here:

For the Pickens Plan Team,
On April 22th at Palomar College in San Marcos, CA we will be hosting an Earth Day event which is open to the public. As a 2-yr college to 33,000+ students, as well as being a Hispanic Learning Institution (HSI), this is an opportunity to take advantage of the exposure for our Pickens Plan efforts. Tables, chairs and location will be provided and secured for us. I do recommend bringing canopies for shade, but they're not required. For further information, don't hesitate to contact me.

Enthusiastically,
Armando Telles

Hi Everyone,
How many folks are actually thinking of trying to buy (or convert to) a CNG car?
I don't see much detail or info on how to really do that. And where are the filling stations?

'Green-collar' jobs a growth area, U.S. group says

Companies are stepping up their environmental initiatives, and that may mean a boom in "green-collar" jobs.

A recent forecast by the American Solar Energy Society found that renewable energy and energy-efficient industries were responsible for the creation of nearly 8.5 million jobs in 2006, and by 2030 that number is expected to reach 40 million.

Colleges and universities are taking notice, according to Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc., a job placement consulting group.

Many have introduced specialized degree programs in eco-commerce, environmental accounting, green and social marketing, and ecological economics.

"The demand for 'green-collar' jobs is really exploding, especially as the cost of energy continues to climb," said John Challenger, the group's chief executive. "Students need to start thinking about developing skills that will give them an edge for these types of careers that did not even exist until recently."

Popular jobs include urban planners, forestry professionals and environmental lawyers, Challenger said. There is also a growing demand for architects and engineers with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit.
