Hello. I am Paul Bohannon, the new Alabama state leader for the Pickens Plan. I would like to encourage you to call your congressmen today and let them know that you are a proud member of Boones Army and you believe the time to begin to end our country's dependence on foreign oil is NOW. Call Mr. Shelby @ (202)224-5744 and Mr. Sessions @ (202)224-4124. Should you require any assistance please contact me here: paul@bohannon.com
Hi Bob, Thanks for reading my comment on Green jobs and illegal immigration. I get my education on that issue from www.numbersusa.com. If you are concerned about it and want to do something go there and sign up. Every now and then they will ask you for a contribution but they will not cut you off if you don't contribute.
I've been writing the PSC plus my local AL rep and AL senator (at their email addresses about the critical need to get off coal as a fuel. Did you see the recent Alabama Living magazine, January 2009 issue? The article on page 12 says we don't have enough solar energy to make the energy economical. Unless we contact our Alabama legislature, that is all they will need to hear to sit on their rumps and do nothing for the duration of their terms. We get way more than the NE of our country and way more than Germany which has the most installed solar capacity of any nation in the world. ... we have enough... we just need the tax credits and net metering laws to make investment in those systems feasible. As you may know there are business just waiting in the wings to begin scheduling installations with no up front cost and lease payments generally below what they are paying now.
Please contact your AL legislators and the PSC (Lucy.baxley@psc.alabama.gov; jan.cook@psc.alabama.gov; and susan.parker.psc.alabama.gov) Susan parker is on our side but doesn't believe it is time to push for alternatives for production. Lucy Baxley was just elected, partly on the strength of a statewide initiative for conservation but again she will probably need some prompting to get her to push for alternative production methods.
If you have any pull or influence, now is the time to use it. My direct email is wdanpom@gmail.com.

Hi Bob,
Ok looks like you are beginning to fnd your way around. Find a group that interests you. I recommend WRITE CONGRESS. Read some of the posts and click on a link or two to other member pages. you will be amazed at the high calibre of participants. I know we can win with a team like this. Here is a suggestion. Tell me what you think.
We are the winning team but we are not there yet. Alabama is a big state and gas being what it is, nobody wants to travel far but if we could set up regional meetings around major centers like Huntsville, Anniston, Birmingham, Montgomery and others you may think of we really need to get the ear of state and national representatives. We should ask them to make Alabama more friendly to alternative energy. Alabama needs net metering, tax and utility credits such as those offered by other states (even Georgia next door) to encourage homeowners to install solar and wind generation. Alabama needs to remove any restrictions on conversion products for automobiles and trucks. Alabama needs to mandate that major oil companies install alternative fueling pumps at every gas station and provide a 50% tax credit for the cost of doing so. Wal-Mart is considering CNG modifications for all of its truck fleet. We should do all we can to make this happen sooner rather than later. Making it easier for corporations to make the switch will make it easier for private citizens to do the same.
Visit my page and read some of my blog posts. Like I heard Jerry Clower say may years ago, I "got so many ways, you' bound to like some of 'em"

As a teenager learned that a propane gas delivery truck operated more efficiently on porpane than gasoline. Truck returned hundred of miles on enpty tank to reload.
What excites you about this campaign?
We are in deep, deep trouble in our energy usage and policies. I would like to leave a better plan for my children and grandchildren.
What do you want to do to help?
Anything I can to spread the word about this plan. It is the most comprehensive and workable plan that I am aware of.
I will begin by writng to my congressional representatives and state legislators.
