- Sending out postcards for Wind Power, and my candidate. (Personal, not here to be partisan). We had just finished a photo shoot about Wind Turbines near my home, and I saw my first Pickens TV ad. WOOHOO! Great minds think alike! You can see my movie on Wind Turbines below. I hope you don't mind the last line of credits... We took these shots on 7/2/08.

I just went to cngnow.com which is a website where you can write to your legislators to consider the benefits of using compressed natural gas as a fuel for automobiles...

I am writing to ask that you consider the benefits of using compressed
natural gas (CNG) as a transportation fuel when formulating our energy
policy. As you may know, CNG currently sells on average $2 less than a
gallon of gasoline and has the ability to reduce vehicle emissions by up
to 90% and greenhouse gases up to 30%.
Natural gas CAN serve as a bridge fuel for our transportation needs and,
as one of your constituents, I am deeply concerned about our rising fuel
costs and our dependence on foreign countries for our energy needs. Using
natural gas for transportation would greatly reduce our national security
risk as 98% of the natural gas we consume is produced in North America.
Moreover, those natural gas supplies are only continuing to increase,
particularly due in recent years to growth in unconventional gas plays.
The most critical piece of getting more CNG vehicles on the road is to
ensure there are refueling stations conveniently located across our
country. Please consider initiatives and legislation to help businesses
expand existing fueling stations and build new stations that provide CNG.
America already has hundreds of thousands of miles of natural gas
pipelines that can be tapped for a fueling infrastructure.
By working with American automakers, we can also provide models of CNG
vehicles to be used throughout our country. Many American automakers
produce various CNG vehicles overseas and can easily manufacture them in
America.
We have the opportunity to play a vital role in making America more energy
independent and hope you will take time to consider a fuel source that is
clean, abundant, affordable and American.

Richard- the HEV is a great idea. Just recouping the lost braking energy is a big bonus- usually it is wasted as heat. A CNG hybrid would be good for today's cars- then when technology catches up we can move forward form there, and move towards renewables.

This process requires all of us to understand HOW to accomplish this and ALL of us can “START TODAY”. (In this example I’m ONLY using Wal Mart’s volume of oil used yearly as it’s public record and they are the largest “TLE” business. (All the other company’s volumes of oil aren’t readily defined so they are not shown) This “Simple Process” starts during your next visit to your friendly “TLE, Jiffy Lube, Oil Can Henry’s or any other location” you typically use when changing your oil every “3,000” miles.
Step 1. YOU simply request or purchase your “MOBIL 1”, Full Synthetic, MOBIL 1/EXTENDED PERFORMANCE” MOTOR OIL” readily available in either “10W-30 or 10W-5. These SYNTHETIC OIL weight’s covers 95% of all engines CURRENTLY used IN ALL VEHICLES. (Currently available for $27.74 at your local Wal Mart store)
Step 2. Bring your new “Mobil Extended Performance”, High Efficiency and High Capacity Oil Filter. (Available at all SCHUCK’S, NAPA, NATIONAL, CARQUEST or other national auto suppliers”.) This filter MUST BE USED to ensure the Oil Filter continues to function for the required miles and maintains the “MOBIL 1, “Guarantee” of 15,000” miles of protection.
Step 3. YOU have taken your next “STEP” to help everybody save “40,000,000” million gallons of refined OIL in the next 12 months.
