- we have a cabin in the upper penisula of michigan and we are looking into solar power up there but there isn't much info alvaliable and if there was more info avalible I am sure more people who have the privlage of electricity would choose solar.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- I am a home care nurse in middle Michigan and I do have to drive a 4WD vhicle to get to my patients homes in the spring, mud in driveways, and the winter with the snow that they can ont plow out and the price of gas is eating my check up even when I get reinbursed 46 cents a mile. I would love to be able to use natural gas or propane in my vehicle and to have low cost solar panals at home and at our cabin.
- What do you want to do to help?
- I will do what ever it takes to get our goverment to allow us to tap all the energy resourses we have here instead of being a slave to other countries. We need to DO IT ALL NOW some things will have quicker results but everything needs to be done and let the TREE HUGGERS buy the expensive oil, I guess I have never figured that out because they want to save the enviroment and nucular energy, wind, clean coal and drilling safe and clean are the best thing we can do for our country and the enviroment.

Under the FairTax plan, points of collection are reduced to retailers many of whom are already collecting sales tax. Because service providers must account for income tax withholding and compliance costs, their prices carry a hidden tax which will become visible under the MI FairTax. (The MI FairTax EXCLUDES business-to-business purchases as this would, again, hide the cost of taxation in prices.)
Because of the prebate to ALL Michigan-resident households, the MI FairTax rate would effectively be 0% on all monthly family spending to the poverty level; thereafter it's 9.75%. The average effective rate will be around 5.5% (see p.2 of pdf brochure).

It's all about power use, conservation, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my energy costs. BTW, Michigan: I just posted an article on my page about Home Wind Systems in Michigan. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "soft policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. You should read that article, important.

(2) In addition to political support and action, I encourage you to consider a Personal Energy Plan in which you take control of your electricity by using home energy systems. The more members we have the bigger our voice to Congress! With enough members, they will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who will certainly try to derail this historic effort. If you bring 5 members and THEY bring 5 members… well you can do the math!
THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost. Now is our chance to be a part of the solution!

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.
A GROUP FOR EVERYONE
Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST
We can always use new, fresh Welcome Wagon “drivers”! It is important that we greet each new member of Pickens Plan (as I am doing now to you!) and let him or her know what can be done immediately.
