The darn photo was cropped, I guess that is good or you would see me urinating on the oil pipeline. Look people, we need to wake up and stop being spoon fed by the media, the oil companies, the auto industry and our own government. We can do this and there is huge change but it must be fed from the bottom. We can’t possibly expect the powers that be would willingly change and adapt for the Manhattan project of the 21st century. It’s going to be expensive, and there is no motivation for the powers that be to change from an oil based economy to one based on a green economy.
My main motivation with the Pickens Plan is national security, how can we have a secure nation when every time there is a conflict in the Middle East they push up the price of oil to punish us. It was very effective in destroying our economy. If you study the Arab mind they can’t seem to think past the fist stage of the process. “So we cause the Americans to pay through the nose for its oil, there economy tanks and we win”. Well that was short sited, in that they also caused food shortages in the third world. There were riots in Mauritania and Senegal over the prices of the food. Funny how they are both predominantly Muslim countries, but that did not stop the OPEC gang.
Look folks if we get off of the foreign oil we remove one of main weapons of the OPEC crew and our economy will grow as we will not be subject to international blackmail. The folks in the lower 48 are being fooled thinking how wonderful it is to have the low fuel prices there now. What they are not seeing in the wild fluctuation in the oil sector is causing a loss of stability in the market, thus reducing the investing dollars. Folks we need to wake up and put our democracy to work.
Write a letter to all of your politicians and tell them we have no choice but to get off of foreign oil now not in five years, write your local car dealers and let them know that you want smaller lighter and more fuel efficient vehicles. Call and write your local colleges and trade schools and ask about classes teaching practical applications for renewable energy. How can we change our economy when we don’t have enough trained people? Alaska has no school that teaches renewable energy. Yep, you and I have got to do more than just sign up for a program online and say that we have done something.

There is a perfect storm of events happening right now that create the possibility of a paradigm shift that is urgently needed. We have an angry citizenry due to pain at the pump, a presidential election on the horizon, and a man with a plan to dramatically and imminently reduce our dependance on foreign oil, and provide a bridge to future solutions, who has the resources, contacts, knowledge, wealth and "will" to get it done.
Please share this plan with your circle of friends, family and associates. Urge them to JOIN. As you know, it is simply like signing a petition. With large numbers of supporters, we can put pressure to bear on Congress to incentivize alternative and renewable energies, and insure that our future president will be a leader that will push for domestic energy solutions. JFK once said. "in the next 10 years we will put a man on the moon". He got it done. We need that kind of leadership on energy.
Time is of the essence. If gas prices retreat the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost. How frightening to be looking back and apologizing to our children that we could not get this done when we had the chance.
