Hello there, my name is Steve Sexton. I posted an article about energy independence for American industry at www.vocgen.wordpress.com.”
I want to share the article with Americans concerned about our energy situation.
I hope you enjoy the article and find it encouraging.
All the best,
Steve Sexton
"It would seem that instead of me trying to hunt out like minded folks that others could be open minded enough to see true opportunites in this request."
That's where the "Perhaps you might consider posting blogs on the issue" comes in. Otherwise no one will find your request. As you can see I get quite a few posts on my page, so messages left there tend to get lost over time.
Perhaps you might consider posting blogs on the issue. Blogs and discussions are a good way to obtain feedback from the members. The question you'd want to answer in the post is what "help" you are looking for and what your concern is. Understand that by its very nature, you will tend to get faster response from the grass roots (although you weren't interested in that at first). If you get enough grass roots response/support, then you stand a better chance of being noticed by the bigger players.
That being said, note that there are thousands of other requests going into the organization, so it's not extraordinary that they haven't gotten back to you. Again, whatever contact you manage to achieve, you need to have a clear message of what you want them to do (and a plan B, because they almost certainly wont go for plan A).
From my personal perspective, I never liked the idea of "clean coal." Poster child or not, this was one of my reasons. Not the spill, although that's huge in itself! It's the mountain top removal. Those might have been great places for wind turbines or some other alternative energy generation. The underground mines are problematic as well - with particles getting lodged in the lungs of workers and with the potential for disaster... I just never liked it. However, I understand that it's someone else's cup of tea, so I don't spit in it. I simply wish them well.
I wish the same for you. If you're into "clean coal," seek out like-minded folks in the forums and do your thing. Good luck.
I'm not sure that I offered a "grass roots response" - other than to point you to the Pickens Plan folks you need to talk to. Renee for example is a good person to start with. I don't know that anyone can get Boone out there by next Wed, but you could always ask... Again, good luck and best wishes.
Thanks for the friend, and thank you for you help with TX-22!
Will you downwload a petition (8 names) get it filled in and fax it back?
It will help your district, as well.
I have sent in over 500 since September. It is easy- Boone has done the hard work. I have not found one person yet that does not want to get off foreign oil. We just need to gather their names, fast. When you get more than 100 we would be honored to have you in the 100CLUB.
Please,
Kim
The energy sector can be the horse that pulls us out of this trough! We can become a net exporter of renewable technologies and be riding high again.
I hope you guys are able to recover and quickly. The best way to reach out to them is to connect with one or more "District Leaders" - since they were put in place to be conduits to the Organization.
Hi Brad,
Pickens Plan is looking for district-level leaders for each of the nine congressional districts in Tennessee to build out the "offensive" for the next phase of Pickens Plan between now and Inauguration Day. I received an email from Regional Leader Renee Klink asking ideas for Tennessee Push users who she should reach out to, and you came to mind. I hope you are interested in renewed activity with Pickens Plan and possibly helping to organize the 4th district. Please contact Renee or me.

There are less than 75 days until Inauguration Day... PLEASE, get just 10 pledges. If everyone did, we would be 14 millions strong! Unlike our forefathers , we will not need to take up arms, but THIS IS OUR REVOLUTION. WE CAN DO THIS.
