Hi Brent and David, I need to replace my old Ford Explorer SUV. I would love to get a natural-gas powered vehicle of some sort. But I can only do that if I can find such a fuel dealer within a reasonable driving distance. Any ideas welcome! Than...

Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
Big supporter of wind/solar/alt fuels. We all need to be willing to conserve and pay a bit more for energy so we do not depend on others for what we consume.
What excites you about this campaign?
First of all, am am a bit anti government. Their "leadership" skills are not that super. Name one major problem the US has faced for last 20 years that has been moving in the right direction? Education? Rising Healthcare Costs? Our dependance on others for energy? You get the picture...

I praise Boone for taking a leadership role. His plans sounds like it is the right move. Even if it needs to be tweaked over the coming years, at least it is a decisive step for the US to come together and start to user our ingenuity and work as a team to strengthen our country.

Waiting for Washington to lead us in the right direction is not the right answer. Doing nothing is not the right answer. Let's energize the country and make it happen!

We need to make sacrifices and change the energy habits of US citizens. Does anyone really need a 30,000 square foot house, much less several of them? Does everyone need to drive an SUV just so my kids are safe in a crash? (I always cringe when I hear that people are buying a 10 mile per gallon SUV so they can be safe in a crash. Interesting logic. How about a Volvo! 28 MGP on highway and really safe...) We need to ween ourselves off Foreign Oil so we do not keep perpetuating this problem and pass it to our children. There is no sense in us having our young folks die in the middle east to keep the region stable. Let's just do what we need to do so we do not depend on that region of the world...
What do you want to do to help?
I own 2 small companies and coach youth basketball so time is limited but I am happy to do what I can...

Brent, With regard to your Newburyport wind turbine spin question, I am expecting to get a call this week letting me know when the first spin will occure. It was initially planned for last Wednesday the 4th. As with most plans, there are unplanned delays.

Brent,
Just as a note of interest, last Friday Jan. 30th, there was a open house at the Newburyport wind turbine site. I was invited and spent a good part of the day at the site. I climbed the tower and enjoyed the view from the top of the nacelle. I could see the Seabrook facility from that vantage point. The site owner is Mark Richey. He also has a biofuel burner in his facility and uses his waste wood chips and sawdust to heat the over 90% of his facility. A good local example of what should be done. Regards, Merle

Hi Brent
My name is Jim Barrus and I am from Springfield, Massachusetts.
I am starting, with help from Dennis Scott, the ENERGY PARTY for MASSACHUSETTS, as part of the Pickens Plan, a state group.
As you are a member of a district in Massachusetts I hope you will join me so we can become a combined voice for alternative fuel to Congress and Federal officials as well as to state officials

Here is a link on the web site for US Department of Energy - Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, for the ENERGY PARTY for MASSACHUSETTS and for the ENERGY PARTY

This page is for Massachusetts but all states can be checked. It is not just a list of other types of energy that can be used in Massachusetts but it discusses them and the kinds of solar collectors.
Check the sites the links go to. There is a lot of information there.

Below is Dennis Scott's statement about the ENERGY PARTY and what we plan on doing.

Jim Barrus

We started the ENERGY PARTY on the Pickens Plan page in October. Our group became the most active and fastest growing group on the PP. We grew so fast that T. Booneʼs son Mike Pickens noticed us and joined our group two weeks before Christmas. We have more than doubled in size since he joined and this brings me to what I want to talk to you about.

Our members from all over this great country wanted me to start groups for their states. I stared a discussion topic in the ENERGY PARTY group Sunday 1/04/09 asking if anyone from any state would be interested in managing a group for their state. As of today 1/08/09 we have started 10 state groups and I have 3 more to start today. We should have at least 25 started by Saturday 1/10/09 and I hope all by the end of the next week. If you have friends in other states let them know20about our movement

The ENERGY PARTY has become a magnet for like minded people that looked for that change always promised every election, but can never find after the winners have been announced. That mythical legend of change that will fall like manna from heaven only if a politician is elected and more so re-elected, and so stealthily eludes us after the election.

I believe in Booneʼs plan of energy independence and support him 110% and our group is here if and when he needs us during the first 100 days of congress. We will stand with him in his attempt to be partisan in his efforts to sway congress to the fact that our country desperately needs a funded energy program to survive in the future. We have taken it upon ourselves to plan ahead in case he fails. I shouldnʼt say he fails, I mean if congress refuses to see the need for a funded energy policy that is a cure not a band aid.

Let us wait to see what they plan and what T. Boone can accomplish in the Lions Den (Washington). I pray for Boone and our efforts to succeed and for us to get back on track with energy and the economy. This time though I am planning ahead, fool me once shame on them, fool me twice shame on me, and I am ashamed. Fool me three times, not without a fight.

Planning ahead Will not hurt us, not planning at all will. Lets watch and w ait then pounce if we see the need. A charismatic financially viable leader like Ross Perot in 1992 will emerge as we gain in numbers. 2009 is our year to grow with your help. Will it be another billionaire from Texas? I donʼt know.

Mike Pickens and I agree that this is not an attempt to find a presidential candidate at all. History shows us when a 3rd party aims for the White House they fail and we take two or three steps back and stumble to the ground becoming comical fodder for the media. This is to push the Pickens Plan and encourage people to run for congress as a 3rd party candidate in 2010

Gas and diesel will go up again because of OPEC and the fact that the 111th congress is already planning a gas tax.
